Auhtor's Note
Evil-plot type events generally cannot be used if Jin, who has a map, is present.
[Master, please wait a moment. I have something to tell you.]
(Alta)
As I was leaving town and trying to use the Portal to return to the capital, Alta stopped me. If Alta was stopping it like this, it must be something interesting.
[I'm not sure if this will meet your expectations, but the Oni God that was sealed away underground in End Castle has been resurrected.]
(Alta)
Yes? ...Why did it suddenly become like this? In the first place, wasn't it said that the seal on the Oni God won't be broken for another 500 years?
[It seems that it was artificially broken. It became clear when Asha's carriage arrived in an area adjacent to the capital, but the details are still unknown. If even one of Master's subordinates had remained, they could have stopped it, but it seems that the fact that they were all out turned out to be a disadvantage.]
(Alta)
Alta was constantly checking the maps of all my subordinates, and it was no exaggeration to say that she had countries around the world under surveillance. However, since my subordinates generally expanded along with my range of activities, they were often not present in places that I visited on a whim for the first time. For example, I decided to do three days of sightseeing in Izumo Kingdom on a whim... As a result, she found that there were no subordinates in the vicinity of the capital, and unfortunately something happened during that time, leading to the Oni God's resurrection.
"This is terrible! We have to do something!" (Tooru)
Tooru, who had also heard Alta's report, was flustered.
Hmm, it's true that we can't just leave things as they are and do nothing.
"That's right. Someone has already managed to remove the seal. It would be a waste not to defeat him, right?" (Jin)
"Jin-kun, it just sounds like you're happy...?" (Sakura)
"Wh-why are you laughing a little...?" (Tooru)
Oops, I must have let my smile slip out a little. Failure, failure.
As Sakura said, I had to admit that I was a little happy. Originally, I had been quite interested in Oni God. Of course, as opponents to be defeated. However, they simply made the common sense judgment that we could not resurrect a Oni God on our own. If the Oni God was resurrected and had to be defeated somewhere unrelated to us, there would be no need for us to be reserved.
"But why did this happen without Jin-dono being there?! If Jin-dono had been there, there would have been a good chance it would have been stopped!" (Tooru)
"That's true. In that regard, I can only say that it was either good luck or bad luck." (Jin)
I wanted them to calmly think about one thing here.
Who was it beneficial for the Oni God to be resurrected while I was away?
Let's say, hypothetically, that while we were here, the Oni God was about to be resurrected for some reason. In that case, it would depend on the circumstances, but there was a high possibility that I would have stopped the Oni God's resurrection (I wouldn't say I definitely did). If that were to happen, it would almost certainly mean that the Oni God would not be resurrected. Conversely, since it was resurrected while we were away, it would be obvious to anyone that there was no way for us to stop it. And only in this case, we would face the Oni God with confidence as an unrelated, well-intentioned third party. Wasn't this like being told to subjugate a Oni God? So, I was going to do it.
Well then, now that this had happened there's no way I wouldn't check the information on the Oni God. I hadn't done any status checks on the Oni God up until now. Why? It's simple. Because if I checked them, I might want to fight them. Of course, if it was just a rare skill, it would be possible to take it while it was sealed with ...Hmm? Maybe that would be the most peaceful way... If the powers of the sealed Oni God were stolen, I would be overjoyed because I had gained the power, Izumo Kingdom would be overjoyed because the Oni God had been neutralized without knowing it, but the Oni God would be dejected because it was sealed and its powers had been taken away.
Well, there's no point in saying anything now, so for now let's focus on gathering as much information as possible about the Oni God.
Tada!
[Oni God] (Lv. 250)
Skills:
- Physical: [Oni God's Body Lv10] [Complete Resistance Lv-]
- Others: [Oni God's Roar Lv-]
Note: An artificial god consisting of the [Great Spirit], [Substitute], and [Oni's Soul]. One of the final trials imposed on humanity.
[Oni God's Body]
A skill exclusive to Oni God. An integrated skill that includes [Physical Strengthening], [Auto HP Recovery], [Auto MP Recovery], [Ambition], and [Berserker].
[Oni God's Roar]
A skill exclusive to Oni Gods. It corrodes the minds of any living thing that hears its roar.
Hmm, this one is also one of the final trials, just like the Ancestor Divine Dragon (Elle). ...But although some of the skills are similar, its level is lower than Elle's, 300. Maybe it's a final trial that is meant to be defeated before the Ancestor Divine Dragon? For example, it might be like defeating the Four Heavenly Kings in an unexpected order in a PRPG. Like defeating the number 2, the only female, before the weakest of the Four Heavenly Kings?
It's dangerous to judge everything based on level alone, but it's unlikely that he's stronger than the Ancestor Divine Dragon. In that case, wouldn't it be better for me to let someone else defeat it instead of me? My first choice would be Maria. Because the increase in skill points for [Transcendence] would be the most effective. I must not make the mistake of defeating him and making [Transcendence] a dead skill (warning).
"After checking the Oni God's status, I've decided to have Maria deal the final blow. The other members are free to join in, but they should leave the finishing blow to Maria. Also, just in case, I've decided not to participate... It would be a waste if I were the one to deal the final blow." (Jin)
"Yes. As Jin-sama wishes." (Maria)
Maria bowed respectfully.
"So, does that mean that the three of us—me, Maria, Dora—will fight together...?" (Sakura)
(I'll do my best!) (Dora)
"Yeah, I think even if there were only three of us, we wouldn't be able to lose unless something extraordinary happens." (Jin)
(Wait a minute!) (Mio)
When I answered Sakura's question, I was stopped by telepathy. The voice was Mio.
(Don't leave Mio-chan out of the team when fighting that boss-like guy!) (Mio?)
(That's right. I'm in charge of combat, so don't forget that!) (Sera)
Apparently, they had heard the story from Alta, and both Mio and Sera seemed determined to fight.
Damage control will be a little more difficult with more people, but with Alta overseeing it, it shouldn't be a problem.
[Leave it to us.]
(Alta)
(Okay. You two will join the battle. But leave the finishing move to Maria.) (Jin)
(Okay, it's true that Maria is the one who would be best able to make use of the Transcendence skill.) (Mio)
(Ugh, I would like one too if possible, but... I'll give it to Maria this time.) (Sera)
To be honest, I didn't think I'd be facing the final challenge so soon. Maybe the other kids would get the chance soon.
(Then, when we teleport using the [Portal], come to the same place.) (Jin)
(Yees) (Mio)
(Yes!) (Sera)
Since it would be impossible to come up with a strategy by just looking at the skills, I decided to use a [Portal] to teleport to Endo to check things out for myself. Furthermore, the [Portal] that was placed in the sword room in Endo Castle was no longer usable. According to Sakura, if the surface on which the [Portal] was placed was significantly deformed, the [Portal] would no longer be able to be used as a transfer target, even if it remained.
In Endo, because of Hannah's watchful eye, we tried not to use [Endo] very often. Therefore, the number of Portals outside of the Endo Castle was quite limited. Currently, Endo was in a state of great chaos, so we decided to teleport to the uninhabited Dragon's Gate via a Portal we had set up.
"Is that Oni God?"
"It's big, isn't it..."
(Big) (Dora)
"There is nothing lacking for the other party."
When we left the Dragon's Gate, what we saw was a giant sitting cross-legged on the ruins of the collapsed Endo Castle. Considering the height of Endo Castle, the seated height alone would be about 60m. Its appearance was quite different from the Japanese-style demon I had in mind, it looked more like a gigantic ogre, with a sinister appearance. Its skin was all black, it was emitting miasma all around, and it had a single pitch-black horn growing from its forehead. Apparently, it wasn't fully awake yet, as its eyes were still closed.
"What is this... I can't believe that the Oni God has been resurrected.... Endo town..." (Tooru)
"This is... Oni God.... It's incredible... and powerful..." (Mimi)
The Izumo Kingdom team, consisting of Tooru and Mimi, muttered, dripping with cold sweat. Apparently, the story of the Oni God itself remained in Izumo Kingdom.
And when the Oni God was resurrected, End Castle collapsed and rain fell on Endo Castle Town, causing destruction all over the town. There also appeared to have been quite a few casualties. Residents who were not affected by the damage had begun to evacuate in an attempt to distance themselves from the Oni God. Of course, once the Oni God of that size started moving, it's probably useless no matter how far you ran...
As we were talking, Mio and Sera were teleported in through a Portal.
"Sorry to keep you~... huh, what is that giant thing!?" (Mio)
"It's bigger than the dragon we fought in the 'Unexplored Land of the Dragonewts' the other day." (Sera)
The two who were transferred were surprised to see the Oni God's appearance. There's no doubt that he was the biggest opponent we had ever faced. Even among dragons, we had never faced something this big.
"Now that Mio and Sera have returned, let's have a strategy meeting right away. ...He doesn't seem to be awake right now, but how long do we have before the Oni God wakes up?" (Jin)
[If you don't launch an attack, he probably won't wake up for an hour.]
(Alta)
"I see, so there is plenty of time… Since we also need to rescue and evacuate the residents, let’s launch our attack right at the last minute, within the hour." (Jin)
According to Alta, it would happen if we launched an attack, so it would be better to make sure we had enough time to escape in order to reduce casualties. I didn't think we'd lose, but if that giant moved, it would cause damage.
"It would be much appreciated if you could do that... Also, it would be much appreciated if you could hurry and rescue the people caught up in the collapse of the castle. Father is probably caught up in it too." (Tooru)
"Ah, there's someone like that, right? He seems to be quite seriously injured, so I think it's better to help him quickly, you know?" (Mio)
It seemed that Mio investigated after hearing Tooru's plea. Indeed, among those caught up in the castle collapse was someone bearing the title of "Izumo Kingdom King." Also, his HP was pretty bad. It seemed that he was bleeding and gradually decreasing.
"We can't stay like this!" (Tooru)
"Well, wait." (Jin)
"Guh?!" (Tooru)
Hearing that her father was seriously injured, I grabbed Tooru's collar as she frantically tried to run away. Tooru, who had been unintentionally strangled, cried out like a crushed Elle.
"Wh-what are you doing?! We have to hurry and help my father and the others..." (Tooru)
"Tooru, what's the point to go alone? If you go, go with the maids." (Jin)
"What? What good is a maid?" (Tooru)
Tooru, who didn't know anything about our maids, tilts her head.
"...It's true, isn't it? Normally, there's no way a maid would be of any help in this situation, right?" (Sera)
"Maids don't usually do things like that, do they...? Getting used to it is a scary thing..." (Sakura)
Sera and Sakura remembered that it was wrong to use the maids in our home as a standard. The definition of a maid was changing.
"What does this mean?" (Tooru)
"Our maids are versatile, so they can easily save a life, you know." (Mio)
"I contacted Lucia-san. A rescue team will be coming soon." (Maria)
Mio explained it to Tooru, who didn't understand.
By the way, what is this rescue maid squad that Maria was talking about? I've never heard of it before.
[These maids specialize in saving lives.]
(Alta)
Soon after, 50 maids were transported via [Portal]. The maids, neatly lined up like an army, headed to various parts of Endo. Some of them headed to Endo Castle with Tooru. It didn't really matter, but what's the point of wearing maid uniforms to carry out rescue operations? They wore a maid's uniform even when working in construction, so maybe it's too late now...
"Now then, I'll leave the rescue to Tooru and the others, and we'll continue our strategy meeting." (Jin)
"The five of us, excluding Jin-kun, will fight, and Maria will be the one to deliver the final blow, right...?" (Sakura)
"Huh? Master isn't going to fight?" (Mio)
Mio tilted her head.
"Oh, come to think of it, I haven't mentioned that to Mio and Sera. Just in case, I don't intend to fight. It would be a shame for me to deliver the final blow." (Jin)
"Okay." (Mio)
Duplicating skills on death was nothing short of the worst thing.
"Looking at his stats, he seems weaker than Elle, and I don't think we'll lose if the five of us fight. Of course, we shouldn't let our guard down. He's weaker than Elle, who I easily beat, though." (Jin)
[You treat me so badly...]
(Elle)
I ignored Elle's mutterings (this was just an image as she had no physical body) as she hung her head dejectedly.
"Yes, I have no intention of making a fool of myself in front of Jin-sama." (Maria)
"Of course! It would be extremely uncool to lose because we let our guard down." (Mio)
"That's right. I'm always serious when I fight." (Sera)
(I'll do my best!) (Dora)
They seemed full of motivation. …Sakura didn't seem to be able to keep up with this excitement. She's chuckling from behind.
"Jin-sama, by the way, what weapons should we use when defeating the Oni God? In Jin-sama's words, the weapons of its slayer will be strengthened, right?" (Maria)
"Now that I think about it, there was that story..." (Jin)
Those who pass the final trial will have their weapons promoted two levels in rarity. My legendary equipment [Soul Blade – Unfinished] has become mythical equipment [Heroic Soul Blade - Unfinished]. If I were to give Maria the [Heroic Soul Blade - Unfinished] and have her defeat the Oni God, would it become a Genesis-class sword, the rarest of all?
[Unfortunately, the final trial only strengthens you to the Mythical level (Gods).]
(Alta)
I see... It's unfortunate, but if it's not possible, there's nothing we can do. Hmm? So, does that mean that the [Heroic Soul Blade - Unfinished] can't become a Genesis-class sword and become a Finished sword? ...That's such a shame.
It was a shame that a work ended when the author died without finishing it. There were also works that would continue even after the author dies, but...
"Use your own weapon, Maria. If you have the time, strengthen your [Sunlight Sword - _SORU]." (Jin)
"Yes, I understand." (Maria)
Since Maria was a dual wielder, she would only be able to strengthen one of her weapons. If anything, I would like to strengthen my main long sword rather than my dagger.
Then I turned to Mimi, who had been listening to the conversation next to me.
"I'm sorry, Mimi. I couldn't strengthen the [Holy Sword - Messiah] even though you made it for me..." (Jin)
Depending on the situation, it would have been fine to target the holy sword created by Mimi, but unfortunately, the holy sword was not currently anyone's main weapon. Strengthening weapons that weren't being used wasn't really effective.
"Please... don't worry.... Even if the Holy Sword becomes stronger... after I strike it..., it will not be... any kind of honor... to me." (Mimi)
"I guess there's no way you can be proud of a weapon that was strengthened without permission... Sorry for asking such a strange question." (Jin)
"Thank you... very much... for your concern..." (Mimi)
From a blacksmith's point of view, if a weapon that they had forged was strengthened by a source unrelated to them, they would not be happy or proud. It's not simply a matter of increasing the rarity.
"Oh, so that girl is the blacksmith that Master was talking about. A dwarf... a loli with big breasts...? She's a formidable opponent, huh..." (Mio)
Mio looked at Mimi with a serious expression and said something stupid. Come to think of it, this was the first time that Mio and Sera had met Mimi.
"She's Mimi, a blacksmith who can forge holy swords. She can forge legendary holy swords from mithril." (Jin)
"I'm... Mimi.... Nice... to meet you..." (Mimi)
"I'm Sera. Nice to meet you." (Sera)
"Mio, nice to meet you. There's another girl with a name similar to mine..." (Mio)
After Mio and Mira, now it's Mimi. Maybe there were a lot of similar names. They all had different types though.
"Oh, that's right. Master, can I see your holy sword?" (Mio)
"Yeah, that's fine." (Jin)
I took out the [Holy Sword - Messiah] and handed it to Mio, who was curious about the holy sword.
"Ooh, what a divine swoord. And it's incredibly effectiive. Mimi-chan, you're amazing, aren't you." (Mio)
"It's still... not enough.... I need... to give... something better...." (Mimi)
"Aah... so Mimi-chan is also a believer..." (Mio)
Mio, realising something, gave a wry smile.
"Master, may I also ask you a question?" (Sera)
"What?" (Jin)
Now it was Sera who asked the question.
"I don't mind letting Maria finish him off, but I think there's still a chance that we might deliver the final blow by mistake, someone other than Master. What should we do?" (Sera)
"I’ve left damage control to Alta, so please follow her instructions. Anyone attacking directly should activate the skill, and you won’t make any mistakes." (Jin)
"I understand." (Sera)
Well, even if someone other than Maria accidentally delivered the finishing blow, it's not like there's any particular loss. On the other hand, if I were to defeat him, it would be considered a loss.
"Also, I don't generally give orders. If there is anything I want to give you, I'll go through Alta first, so you can be prepared for that. To be honest, it's more reliable than giving orders myself." (Jin)
I'm _SHUNDOUJIN_, a Dungeon Master who doesn't have much of a commanding aptitude. Nice to meet you.
Afterwards, as we continued to talk about the battle with the demon god, Tooru returned looking extremely excited.
"The culprit has been found!" (Tooru)
"The culprit... does that mean the person who carried out the revival of the Oni God?" (Jin)
There was no one else who could be called the culprit in this situation.
"That's right. It seems that one of the Three Great Leaders who served the royal family betrayed my father and released the seal. He told me about it when I healed my father after he collapsed." (Tooru)
"An insider, huh? Well, it makes sense considering the situation, right? By the way, what is the Three Great Leaders?" (Mio)
As Mio said, it was hard to imagine that it was an outside perpetrator in this situation. There were no suspicious people (demons or the like) on the map that wouldn't be found in this country...
And I was also curious about the Three Great Leaders.
"The Three Great Leaders are three distinguished families that have served and supported the royal family since the founding of the country. They were given the surnames Akechi, Yuda, and Furutasu by the founding king." (Tooru)
"Isn't that a premise of betrayal?!" (Jin)
"That's it?! What's wrong, suddenly?" (Tooru)
I couldn't help but scream.
What the heck? Isn't this one of the top three (worst?) traitors that I know of? Considering that the country was (presumably) founded by Japanese people, this can only be a deliberate act.
"Wow, this is terrible, right?" (Mio)
"Of all the reasons, that's the only thing I can say..." (Sakura)
The Japanese duo, Mio and Sakura, muttered with pitying looks on their faces.
"You see, those three names are representative of traitors we know. I think the founders of this country probably knew about it when they gave them those names... but I never thought they'd actually betray everyone. They're a perfect fit for the role, you know." (Mio?)
"I-If that's true, then what are our ancestors thinking?!" (Tooru)
"Well, you won't really know until you ask them, you know." (Mio?)
Tooru was horrified by Mio's explanation.
Seriously, what on earth was he thinking when he gave that name?
#1 He had the power to predict the future and knew that someone would betray him.
#2 Since he was a close aide to the royal family, he was given a name that would sound amusing if he were to betray them.
#3 Just because.
Yeah, maybe #2.
"Leaving aside the incomprehensible actions of your ancestors, what happened to those traitors?" (Jin)
"He was caught up in the collapse of the castle and died." (Tooru)
"...Huh? Please explain in more detail. I don't understand." (Jin)
What's going on? The mastermind behind the Oni God's resurrection is dead.
"To break the seal on the Oni God, you must go underground. Once you break the seal, the Oni God will emerge from underground. The underground of the castle will collapse and be destroyed." (Toory)
"……I see" (Jin)
Although he managed to revive the Oni God, he probably didn't understand how to revive it. So when the castle collapsed, he was in the area that suffered the most damage. What could I say..., it just didn't feel tight...
"So, has the most important part of the rescue been completed?" (Jin)
Now that the mastermind behind it all is dead, the only one we need to worry about is the Oni God.
"Yes, it's almost done.... It seems I had a misunderstanding about what a maid was. Her work is certainly worthy of being called all-purpose." (Tooru)
"No, normal maids can't do that, you know?" (Jin)
Like I said before, don't use my maid as your standard.
"The maids are currently guiding those who were unable to escape. They are extremely versatile..." (Tooru)
It seems that Tooru's perception of maids had crumbled.
"Also, about half of my swords was ruined. I know this isn't the time to say it, but honestly, I'm feeling disheartened..." (Tooru)
The damage must have been so great that Tooru was almost in tears just thinking about it. Looking at the map, there were remains here and there... I hope we could fix it somehow.
"By the way, why did you come back here, Kaoru? Why didn't you just evacuate?" (Jin)
"I want to see the battle up close. If Jin-dono were to visit, I want to watch alongside you." (Kaoru)
"Oh, I don't mind as long as you don't get in the way." (Jin)
"Don't get in the way. Just watch quietly."
If there was one thing that worried me, it's that when Tooru (and Kaoru) got excited, you never know what they'd do. Specifically, when they saw the famous sword or when the twins' body swap was discovered. They would charge in, let slip information, and give orders to kill without any regard for what others was thinking. To be honest, there was no one who could be trusted more than this when it came to "behaving quietly."
"May I... join you...?" (Mimi)
As I was looking at Tooru suspiciously, Mimi raised her hand and asked me.
"Of course I don't mind, but do you want to see a fight, too, Mimi?" (Jin)
"Yes……" (Mimi)
By the way, Mimi was a blacksmith by trade, but she had been fighting monsters in the Sylph Forest for five years. It was not surprising that she had an interest in fighting itself.
"Maybe Mimi wanted to fight the Oni God too?" (Jin)
"No... I don't like... fighting... In the forest... I was only forced... out of necessity... What I want to see... is you all fighting... To help me... make weapons..." (Mimi)
Mimi stated it plainly. It seemed that she was serious about not being interested in fighting. In fact, when I looked at her skills and stats, she's not that weak. Or rather, she's in the strong category, but she seemed to only be interested in blacksmithing. It's a bit of a waste.
"So, you want to observe the battle not as a warrior, but as a blacksmith? That makes sense." (Jin)
"Yes.... Even if I... can't reach Jin-sama's... weapon..., I might be able... to make... someone else's weapon...." (Mimi)
Currently, all the weapons used by the main members other than myself were legendary. Mimi was currently capable of creating Legendary-class weapons, so it wouldn't be long before she reached the higher-level Phantasma-class weapons. In that case, it would be best to start by upgrading the weapons of the other main members, rather than me, who has a God-class weapon. In preparation for that, I wanted to start by looking at each of our fighting styles.
"Mimi-chan, I want a god-class weapon too!" (Mio)
"Mio-san's... weapon is... a bow, right...? I've... never made... a bow before.... Can I... make one... with [Sacred Magic Blacksmith]?" (Mimi)
Mio raised her hand and asked for a god-level weapon, but it seemed that Mimi could not make a bow. After some research, I found that [Sacred Magic Blacksmith] also had the ability to make bows.
"It seems that you can also make bows. I think they're called [Sacred Bow]." (Jin)
Is it something like a hamaya arrow?
"Is that... so...? I'll try... next time...." (Mimi)
"No, that's not it. I'm interested in bows, but I'd rather upgrade my sub-weapon, the dagger. After all, it's still a 'Mithril Knife', you know?" (Mio)
Mio had a knife for close combat, but it seemed that upgrade had been delayed because it was not a weapon that she normally used. It was clear that the current Mio was not equipped with it.
"I see... I'm sorry, but would you mind if I took care of it for you, Mimi?" (Jin)
"I understand... I will prepare... the dagger... What material... do you want...?" (Mimi)
The [Holy Sword - Messiah] was made of mithril and was of legendary rank. If higher quality materials were used, it might be possible to create something of legendary quality or higher.
"Of course, Orichal..." (Mio)
"Mithril." (Jin)
"Yes... I understand..." (Mimi)
"Ehh..." (Mio)
I interrupted Mio, who was about to request a weapon made of Orichalcum.
"Wouldn't it be a waste to use Orichalcum as a sub-weapon?" (Jin)
"What a pity..." (Mio)
[Mithril Knife] → [Mithril Holy Sword], so it has definitely gone up in rank, so please don't complain.
Now that the maids had finished guiding the residents to safety and the residents had gained a certain amount of distance, the time was approaching when it would not be surprising if the Oni God made a move.
The rest of the team members were in their battle positions. Since the Oni God was huge, we decided to split up the areas each of us would be responsible for attacking. Together with Tooru, Mimi, and some of the maids, we decided to enjoy the sights from a hilltop with a good view, a little distance from the capital. This was how humanity would deal with its final test.
"Jin-sama, what would you like to drink?" (Maid)
"Squeeze some seasonal fruit." (Jin)
"All right" (Maid)
Sitting on a whitewashed chair, picking cookies from the plate on the table and sipping the drink the maid had brought me, it's an elegant afternoon. This was how humanity would be treated in its final trial (for the second time).
"The battle with the Oni God is about to begin. How can you be so relaxed? But this drink is delicious. These sweets are delicious too..." (Tooru)
Tooru, who was next to me eating snacks and drinking his drink, muttered.
"I don’t think for a second that my comrades will lose. It’s only natural that I can watch with peace of mind, right?" (Jin)
"According to legend, even the hero had a hard time sealing away this monster." (Tooru)
According to Tooru, when the Oni God once appeared in this land, a hero fought it. However, even the hero was unable to defeat it and only managed to seal it away. In reality, it took a long time for the hero to appear, and during that time the number of villages and towns destroyed could not be counted on both hands.
"...Ah, unfortunately there is a piece of information missing from that story. The 'Heroes from Another World' do not have the right to participate in the 'Final Trial of Humanity'. To be more specific, the 'Final Trial of Humanity' cannot be damaged by the attacks of the 'Heroes from Another World'." (Jin)
"I-is that so!?" (Tooru)
This information was obtained by actually passing the final trial and absorbing the ancestral dragon (Elle), but it seemed that the attacks of the Hero from Another World were ineffective against the final trial.
Since the attacks of heroes unique to this world, such as Maria and Cynthia, seem to go through normally, I interpreted this as saying, "Heroes from another world shouldn't cheat." Me? Hahaha, I'm not a hero so it's fine, right? Right?
"For the Hero, he had no choice but to seal it away since it couldn't cause any damage." (Jin)
"I'm surprised. To think that there was such truth behind the legend..." (Tooru)
As we were talking, we received a telepathic message from Maria.
(Jin-sama, it's time to begin the operation.) (Maria)
(Yes. I'll leave it to you, Maria.) (Jin)
(Yes! Leave it to me!) (Maria)
Ten seconds after Maria replied enthusiastically, a simultaneous attack on the Oni God began.
I'm Jin Shindo, a guy who makes younger girls take on giant monsters and I eat snacks with while watching them. Nice to meet you.
...If you list them calmly, it's pretty outrageous!
Q&A
Q: The demon god isn't moving, so if we use to steal its status, we can shut it down completely, right?
A: In that case, I decided not to because I wasn't sure if I would be able to meet the conditions to obtain the [Transcendence] skill.
Q: The Oni God isn't moving, wouldn't it better for JIN:1 to hit it as hard as he can, use [Show Mercy] to reduce its HP to the bare minimum, and then leave the finishing touches to Maria?
A: That's right.
Author's Note
Akechi, Yuda, and Furutasu are the characters I put my heart and soul into.
Since they don't appear anymore, I'll just add that there is no one behind these three. Neither the demons nor that guy.
Translator's Note
It took longer than expected to translate and edit this chapter. There's a lot of new words, but the good thing is, the previous translator left a glossary, so I can use it here and integrate it with my system.
Schedule? There's no schedule slot allocation for now, so probably it will be arbitrary releases. Let's just assume 1 chapter every 1-2 weeks for now. At the current pace of the author, which is about 1 chapter per month, I just need to release at least 2 chapters per month to catch up.
