Deborane's Perspective
Leaving King Spider to the Bear, Lanz and I rushed into the village chief's house.
"Deborane-san, Lanz-san, you are safe." (Chief)
The village chief welcomed us.
I felt bad for the village chief, but I asked him to sit on a chair.
I was really tired. That bear moved around more than us and killed the spider. However, she didn't show any signs of being tired.
Is she a monster?
"What about that girl?" (Chief)
The village chief asked while looking at the door. Maybe he thought we abandoned her.
"She is still fighting." (Deborane)
I would report on the current situation. I told him that we defeated the spider that appeared in the village, but that a king spider appeared. However, the village chief's reaction was weak.
There's no need for ordinary people to know about the King Spider, so I would explain the same thing I explained to the bear.
"Is she really that strong?" (Chief)
"It's nothing compared to the spider that appeared in the village. Decide whether to run away from the village or stay." (Deborane)
"…Leave the old people behind." (Chief)
The village chief looked pained.
"Ah, but even if we run away, there is no guarantee that everyone will be saved." (Chief)
If they were attacked while running away, we would abandon them.
"There's only one, isn't it? Even Deborane-san and Lanz-san can't defeat it?" (Chief)
I wanted to say I could defeat it, but I couldn't.
"The only thing can defeat it is that bear." (Deborane)
It's frustrating, but that bear defeated the Goblin King and Black Viper by herself.
There were also many other unbelievable rumors floating around.
If someone could defeat it here, it would probably be that bear.
"That girl dressed as a bear." (Chief)
"It's normal if you don't believe it." (Deborane)
Even I still couldn't believe it.
"Whether the Bear can defeat or not, you have to decide by then." (Deborane)
This was not for me to decide.
The decision was made by the village chief, who was the head of this village.
I just followed the instructions.
Having said what I had to say, I stood up from my chair.
I was able to take a breather by taking a short break.
"Lanz, let's go." (Deborane)
"Where?" (Lanz)
"I don't like it, but I'll help increase the chances of Bear defeating King Spider, even if it's just a little bit." (Deborane)
"Are you going to fight King Spider?" (Lanz)
"If you don't like it, stay here." (Deborane)
"No, if Deborane-san goes, I'll go with you." (Lanz)
Lanz and I left the village chief's house and looked for the Bear and King Spider. The bear and king spider were moving around the village, so it was easy to spot them.
"What's that speed?" (Deborane)
The bear and king spider were moving around the village with incredible movements.
Right, left, movements that are inhuman.
Was it strengthened by magic?
"Deborane-san, even if you get into the fight, you’ll only get in the way." (Lanz)
I knew it.
I couldn't keep up with that kind of movement.
We couldn't even get in during the battle.
What I was good at was killing with one hit, guaranteed kill.
While observing the movements of the Bear and King Spider, I noticed that king Spider often stopped moving in front of houses.
The bear also tried to attack but stopped.
"Why isn't she attacking?"
"Maybe it’s because there's a house."
I'd seen bear magic several times and it's powerful.
Furthermore, if the magic was to defeat that King Spider, it would have to be more powerful.
If powerful magic was released, the house behind the King Spider would collapse, and the people inside would be crushed under the collapsed house. Therefore, bears could not attack.
As I looked around to see if there was a way, I found a ladder leaning against the wall of a house.
"Lands, I will launch an attack from the roof. You will tell me the location of King Spider and the bear." (Deborane)
Lanz immediately understood and nodded.
I slowly climbed up to the roof of the house using the ladder.
I only got one chance.
I ducked low on the roof and watched Rands.
Lanz used hand signals to tell me the location of King Spider.
Hand signals were used when attacking monsters or animals, or when communicating with distant companions.
From Lanz hand sign, it seemed like she's in the back. I held a large sword and waited patiently.
Come here quickly.
I quietly hide.
Lanz looked a little panicked and sent a hand signal.
I could hear it approaching by the sound.
I saw the bear and a king spider coming.
Too fast. There's no way I could defeat a monster like that head-on. However, I could only say that the bear that can keep up with the King Spider's movements was amazing.
Even though you're wearing such strange clothes. If you were strong, wear clothes that make you strong.
As I was thinking about this, the bear and a spider came in front of my house.
Just came directly below.
King Spider came to me like he was running away from the bear.
As expected, the king spider seemed to know that the bear couldn't attack and stopped moving when it got in front of the house.
It's a chance.
I gripped my great sword tightly and jumped off the roof towards King Spider.
Yuna's Perspective
"Hey!"
A goblin came down screaming, no, I thought it was a goblin, but it turned out to be Deborane holding a sword.
When Deborane jumped off the roof of the house, there was a King Spider.
Even though it's Deborahne, his timing was perfect.
King Spider could not avoid the unexpected attack from above.
When Deborane's great sword was about to pierce King Spider, King Spider's body glowed red, and the golden pattern on its crown appeared once again.
Deborane's sword that was supposed to pierce the King Spider was deflected, and Deborane fell to the ground. King Spider ran away after hitting the sword.
"Deborane-san, are you okay?" (Lanz)
Lanz rushed over to the fallen Deborane, and with Lanz's help, Deborane stood up with a frustrated look on his face.
"Damn, isn’t it okay at that timing?" (Deborane)
Maybe that's why I cried.
No, since it's a spider, it might have sensed his presence.
It also dodged my attack from behind.
"Why are you both doing this?" (Yuna)
"It's probably because you won't defeat King Spider no matter how much time passes!" (Deborane)
Is that why they came to help?
"The villagers" (Yuna)
Should we make sacrifices and abandon the village, or stay in the village?
"It's up to you. If you decide that you can't defeat it, the village chief will decide. If I had a weapon that could penetrate that spider's body, I wouldn't have to rely on you." (Deborane)
"That's why I told you to buy a mithril sword back then." (Lanz)
Lanz answered Deborane's complaint.
"Shut up, that small sword doesn't fit me." (Deborane)
"It can't be helped, right? Deborane-san's sword is big, so a Mithril sword that big is too expensive to buy." (Lanz)
According to Fina, even mithril knives were expensive. His normal sword was even more expensive. If it were to become the mithril sword of Deborane's great sword, it wouldn't be easy to buy.
"Bear! I told you I would defeat it. What are you doing so hard?" (Deborane)
Deborane started to get mad at me because he couldn't talk back to Lanz. I hope he didn't hit eight.
"Even if you say that, it moves so fast that your attacks won't hit. Even if you have a chance to attack, if you try to use powerful magic, they'll stick to your house and won't let you attack. It can’t be helped." (Yuna)
There's a lot of stress here too.
Bear's wind blade, bear's flame, and bear's electric magic could not be released.
And just one shot wouldn't do it. Bear's wind magic hit it, but it survived.
If I released bear magic continuously in the village, the surrounding area would be in trouble.
Unless it's the sea and not a small space, who said it was okay?
It's me!
But Deborane and Lanz's words remind me of the Mithril Knife.
If it's a mithril knife, if I put my magical power into it, its power would increase. It's not what Lanz said, but Mithril's weapons should be able to cut down that King Spider.
Besides, if we attacked with a knife, we wouldn't have to worry about the house behind. I didn't want to get close to spiders, so my deep psyche had kept the mithril knife deep in my memory.
The problem was how to approach it.
I couldn't even get close at that speed.
I looked at Deborane and Lanz.
......pon.
I thought of something good.
"What? That smile?" (Debroane)
Apparently, I looked at Deborahne and laughed.
I thought I was good at keeping a poker face, but it seemed showed on my face. I used the bear puppet to soothe my cheeks.
"I have a plan to defeat King Spider." (Yuna)
"What is it?" (Deborane)
"......"
Deborane made a disgusted face when he heard my plan.
"So, I guess you can really defeat it." (Debroane)
"If things continue like this, we're going to be in a pinch, and if they manage to escape into the forest, I think we'll have a harder time defeating them." (Yuna)
To be frank, if it were to escape into the forest at that speed, it would be difficult to defeat it, even with detection skills.
Moreover, if they were to escape into the forest, the villagers would have to live in fear, not knowing when the King Spider would appear.
It's not easy to leave the village and lived somewhere else.
"So, what do we do?" (Deborane)
"...Damn it! If you defeat it, I'll give you the materials for that King Spider! Come on Lanz!" (Deborane)
"Deborane-san!" (Lanz)
Deborane and Lanz started running.
Apparently, he reluctantly accepted my idea.
I summoned Kumayuru and Kumakyu to borrow their help.
When I summoned Kumayuru and Kumakyu, they had a sullen expression on their faces. Apparently, they're angry about being sent back.
"Sorry, don't be so angry, there's something I need you two to help with." (Yuna)
I pat Kumakyu on the head and tell him how to defeat King Spider while keeping him in a good mood.
Kumayuru and Kumakyu were a little reluctant to my strategy.
Well, I wouldn't like it if I were to play the role of Kumayuru and Kumakyu, but I couldn't just abandon them.
"If I can't defeat it here, there would be damage, so please. I'll give you lots of honey for a week, and then we'll take a bath together and sleep together." (Yuna)
Pair it with a bear puppet and make a request.
Kumayuru and Kumakyu looked at each other and said, "It can't be helped."
"Thank you. Well then, Kumayuru, go with Deborane. And let me know when you're ready." (Yuna)
"Kuu~n!" (Kumayuru)
Kumayuru cried and followed Deborane.
"Kumakyu, we will be dealing with King Spider." (Yuna)
"Kuu~n" (Kumakyu)
Until Deborane and Lanz were ready, I would concentrate on drawing King Spider's attention to me so as not to let it escaped and caused damages to those around him.
When Kumakyu was targeted, he will be sent back or re-summoned to prevent Kumakyu from narrowing down the target. King Spider got irritated with that kind of approach.
After a while, I heard Kumayuru crying somewhere in the village.
Author's Note
Next time, it will be decided.
In short, we say goodbye to Deborane. We miss you.
