"The items we have prepared for you today will be on sale from the Yamano Viscounty soon. Excluding some large play equipment that requires divine power to operate..." (Mitsuha)
Things like fluffy domes that require a power source to constantly pump air could not be sold. They were meant only for livening up and could only be displayed at events that I was involved in.
Large playground equipment had become quite cheap, including purchases and rentals. However, the impact it had on the children was outstanding and could not be imitated by any other family. It would impress the kids and instill a sense of awe in the adults about the technological prowess of my country (LOL)!
"We welcome trial sales prior to full-scale sales and inquiries regarding large-scale transactions thereafter. If you are interested, please just make an appointment today and give me a note with your name and your interests. We will inform you of the date and time to meet with you at a later date." (Mitsuha)
When I glanced at Marquis Bozes, I saw him with an exasperated look on his face. Iris-sama seemed to be smiling wryly.
Well, even though parties are a place for nobles to work, a party that is so blatant, with everything from the food to the entertainment to the boredom to be specialized for business advertising, is probably unprecedented...
But I'm sure I'll get back the money I invested. That's the way of the Viscount Yamano family!!
"Now, everyone, please enjoy our chat for a while!" (Mitsuha)
Yeah, it was not good for me to talk at length.
A party is not only a place for the host to interact with the invited guests, but also a place for the invited guests to interact with each other. The organizers (host) must be be concerned about this as well.
Sabine-chan, who was eating lots of sweets with her older sister and her younger brother Luchen-kun, had already left the group and returned to me.
Sabine-chan didn't have to stick around, because she could always eat sweets with Her Highness the Second Princess (_CHINEESAMA_) and Her Highness the Second Prince (Luchen-kun) on the third floor of the General Store Mitsuha.
...No, of course I would limit the amount. If I made princesses and princes fat, my head would fly off. Not metaphorically, but physically...
That was why Sabine-chan, Colette-chan, and Beatrice-chan were now stuck around me, like bits or funnels... If Sabine-chan and Beatrice-chan went out alone, they would be swarmed up by a lot of insects... Even though I was the host today, they were completely taken over as the main character. Surely, if they were with me, people wouldn't be able to ignore me and talk to the two of them.
Hahahahaha!
...Ah!
"Large play equipment is only for small children! Adults should not use it, it will not maintain its strength! It is also no good to wear sharp objects. Please take it off before playing and leave it with your parents! It will tear the play equipment, and if it hits someone else, it could cause injury!" (Mitsuha)
It was the first time they had ever used one in my life, so it was no wonder they didn't notice it. We had put up signs with warnings, but the kids didn't take the time to read them carefully and just jumped right in. That was why we warned adults who tried to jump into the fluffy dome or ball pool, as well as those wearing sharp metal jewelry.
No, it would be bad for that young lady to jump around and roll around in the ball pool dressed like that! It doesn't matter if you're under 10 years old, but you're around 12 or 13 years old, right? You're already at the age where you're being educated as a lady, aren't you?
And the physiques of the 12-13 year olds here would make them look like high school students to Japanese people... Yeah, I was already 20 years old, but here I looked like I was about 12 or 13 years old... Even though in Japan I would probably be able to see it at around 15 or 16 years old...
Oh, Sabine-chan, Colette-chan, and Beatrice-chan?
Yesterday, after setting up the playground equipment, we had fun playing with it to our heart's content, calling it a test, so today was a calm day.
Then, when everyone had finished playing, eating and drinking, and other things had calmed down, and I had the maids hand out the cards. Even though it was called a card, it was not the official name for playing cards. There were 25 frames in total, 5 columns in each row, and a 2-digit number was written in each frame. Each frame had perforations on three sides, allowing the frame to be erected by pressing with your finger.
...Yeah, everyone knows that. Yes, it's a bingo card!
The numbers were the ones used in this country. I ordered it from a Japanese printing shop and had it made. As for the perforations, I heard that one of the printing shop's business partners would do that, so I signed a contract that included that cost. It didn't take a lot of effort to print out a lot of the same thing, but with Bingo, we had to arrange the numbers in different ways, so it was much more expensive than normal.
So instead of just making one for this occasion, I made a whole bunch, because surely I would need them again. The unit price would be lower if I made a lot of these things at once. Next time I had a bingo tournament, as long as I had the cards, I wouldn't have to spend much money other than the prize money.
The number selection ball was handwritten on a ping pong ball using a permanent marker. In something like this, the selection of numbers was one of the elements that livens up the atmosphere, so rather than just a number tag, you had to grab a ball with a number written on it and hold it up high.
To prove that there was no fraud, the box containing the ping pong balls was made of transparent plastic.
Just stick your hand in there, rummage through it, and select one piece at a time. Of course, kept you eyes straight ahead, towards the invited guests, not at the box.
That way, everyone could see you stirring the ping pong balls and grabbing one at random, so it was obvious that it was a fair lottery.
They might think that a plastic box was made of glass, but that didn't really matter.
Sabine-chan, Beatrice-chan, and Colette-chan were asked to take turns in grabbing the ping-pong ball.
Her Highness the Third Princess, who was very popular with the people; the Great Saint, the beloved child of the Goddess; and the loyal girl who used herself as a shield to protect the Lightning Archpriestess, grabbed a ping pong ball and held it high with a smile. There was no way it wouldn't be fun, and if you won (bingo) and got a prize, you would be happy.
Even though the prize itself wouldn't be of much value, it would still be exciting, and the prize is a non-sale item from Earth. Of course, it had value in this world, but it was cheap to buy on Earth.
I was a little worried about whether Bingo would be well-received by the people of this world, but in the novel "All Colors of Darkness," it was very well-received by the aliens. ...That means that at least the author of that novel thought that "Bingo is also enjoyed by people from other social forms." And in fact, it was being received in various countries around the world. If that was the case, the people here, who had almost the same body and the same mentality as people on earth, should also receive it.
Actually, I gathered all the employees together at my mansion and conducted an experiment. I gave prizes like 100-yen products made on Earth or chocolates.
...The results was a huge success!
The test subjects of the experiment were all commoners, but maybe this was the same for commoners and nobles. Maybe people just couldn't stand games that incite gambling? There were many games in this world where you competed for victory or defeat, but in those games, you tried to achieve victory based on your skill and luck. It was a little different from bingo or pachinko.
Anyway, the rules of bingo were easy to understand even for beginners, and you would never lose out. And the amount of chemicals secreted in the brain when hit was incredible. ...It just gushed out. An overflowing feeling of euphoria. When I saw the winner, they thought, "Next time, it's definitely me!!" A sense of anticipation.
Alright, let's go to probably the first bingo tournament in this world!!
