Chapter 845

The Bear Goes to the Adventurer Guild

Published: 4 January 2025

We arrived at the Adventurer's Guild. It was in the neighborhood of the Commercial Guild. The Commercial Guild could be seen a short distance away. With Zect-san and Lydia-san in the lead, we entered the Adventurer's Guild building. Maybe it's morning, but there were a lot of adventurers.

"Let's just sell it and get out." (Marne)

Perhaps not being used to this sort of place, Marne-san did not look very pleased. We headed to the reception. Meanwhile, adventurers passing by look at me suspiciously and mutter, "Bear?" "Bear?" "Bear?" "Kuma?" First of all, we went to the reception desk before I got bothered.

"Lydia-san, Zect-san, good morning." (Receptionist)

"Good morning, Kuno-san." (Lydia)

Zect-san bowed slightly, and Lydia-san greeted the receptionist. The receptionist, who was called Kuno-san, turned her gaze towards me.

"Um, before I ask what you want, can I ask about the girl dressed as a bear behind you?" (Receptionist)

The receptionist had an indescribable look on her face.

"Well, she's Yuna-san. She may be dressed like this, but she's an adventurer. And this girl over here is..." (Lydia)

"Marne, a half-elf. Older than you." (Marne)

Marne-san emphasized the older part. The receptionist looked at me and Marne-san several times and muttered the words "adventurer" and "older" in small voices. Well, it's a normal thing for me so I didn't mind. Marne-san didn't seem to mind either.

"I understand. So, what can we do today?" (Receptionist)

The receptionist didn't ask any more questions and switched over.

"I'd like to trade some monster materials."

"Now then, please submit your guild card and materials." (Receptionist)

Zect-san took out a small pouch containing magic stones and Red Monkey's furs from his item bag.

"So many. Lydia-san and Zect-san?" (Receptionist)

"It was Yuna-chan who defeated them. She gave it to us because she wanted us to dismantle it." (Lydia)

"Speaking of Yuna-chan..." (Receptionist)

Again, her gaze was directed at me.

"Excuse me, but may I also have Yuna-san's guild card?" (Receptionist)

After all, it's something that's required. I took out my guild card from Bear Box.

"Adventurer Rank C..." (Receptionist)

The receptionist repeatedly looked at the card and me. She placed the guild card on the crystal plate and checked the contents of the guild card.

"Amazing. One person can fight so many monsters. And with this many... Could it be the rumor..." (Receptionist)

The receptionist whispered. Rumor?

"I'm sorry." (Receptionist)

The receptionist bowed deeply.

"That's fine. I'm used to being doubted." (Yuna)

The reason I was suspected was because I was dressed as a bear.

"Well then, we'll take care of it." (Receptionist)

The receptionist returned my guild card. And so, the Red Monkeys, the wolves, the goblin's magic stones, and Red Monkey's and wolf's furs were safely taken away. And the money was put out before Lydia-san and Zect-san.

"So much..."

A considerable amount of money was placed on the counter.

"Please confirm." (Receptionist)

Zect-san checked it and put the money away in a small pouch.

"So, here are the subjugation records." (Receptionist)

"Please register them to Yuna-chan. We just did the dismantling." (Lydia)

"There's no point in us having a subjugation record and our ranks rising. It would be troublesome if we were to be overestimated and asked to take on difficult requests." (Zect)

If Lydia-san and Zect-san had not reported it, the kill record would have been registered with Lydia-san and Zect-san and their ranks might have increased. If that happened, they might be asked to take on a difficult subjugation request. It's a matter of life and death.

"Of course. I cannot register the kill records to Zect-san and Lydia-san. I will register them to Yuna-san." (Receptionist)

I had no intention of declining this matter. That's why we came to the Adventurer's Guild together. But after showing them my guild card, they believed I had defeated them so easily. Normally, they would be suspicious.

"Yuna-san, I'm sorry, but could I have your guild card again please?" (Receptionist)

The record of the defeat would be recorded on my guild card. Lydia-san and Zect-san thanked her and left the reception desk.

"Yuna-chan, are you sure you want us to have it all?" (Lydia)

She seemed surprised that the amount was greater than expected.

"Sure. Let's give Est something delicious to eat." (Yuna)

"But Marne-san has already bought the herbs from us." (Lydia)

"It's the price for collecting the medicinal herbs. It was Lydia-san and Zect-san who dismantle the monsters." (Yuna)

"Most of it is me though." (Zect)

I ignored what Zect-san said.

"If it were me, I would have just buried it and finished it without dismantling them." (Yuna)

All I needed to take home was Tigerwolf and the giant monsters. At the very least, I'd add wolves.

"Like I said, that's the money of both of you who did the dismantling." (Yuna)

It's okay to have a lot of money. Someone in your family might get sick. Money can buy peace of mind.

"Thank you. Yuna-chan" (Lydia)

"But don't use it for gambling, okay?" (Yuna)

"I won't do that because I'm not my brother." (Lydia)

"Zect-san, are you going to do it?" (Yuna)

"A bit, just a bet with a friend over a drink." (Zect)

"Do you have any friends?" (Yuna)

"Of course I have." (Zect)

"..." (Yuna)

Usually there had. I didn't have any. I didn't have any friends in my original world, but in this world I had Fina. Friends far apart in age? But Fina called me "Yuna-oneechan." Maybe she's my younger sister? Noa called me "Yuna-san" and was fond of me. But I didn't feel like we're friends. Then there's Shia, who was the same age. We're not close enough to go somewhere together.

"…………" (Yuna)

Let's not think about it any further. It would only hurt my heart.

After retrieving our materials, we left the Adventurer's Guild.

"We made it out of the Adventurer's Guild safely." (Yuna)

"Safe? There's no danger at the Adventurer's Guild." (Marne)

Marne-san looked at me strangely at what I said.

"When I first went to the Adventurer's Guild, I got a lot of attention because of the way I was dressed." (Yuna)

Of course, not all of them, but the chances of getting tangled up were high.

"Hey, Zect and Lydia, wait." (An adventurer)

As we left the Adventurer's Guild, someone called out to us from behind. I turned around and saw three adventurers. Apparently, we were not able to leave the Adventurer's Guild safely.

"An adventurer who usually only picks up weeds must have used some underhanded tactics to defeat so many monsters." (An adventurer)

"That's none of your business." (Zect)

"Maybe you were scavenging through the bodies of other adventurers?" (An Adventurer)

The two people who were with him laughed at what he said. Apparently, they hadn't heard the conversation with the receptionist.

"I wouldn't do that." (Zect)

"Give us a little share too." (An adventurer)

The men moved. I also moved. Bear punch, three consecutive hits. The men were blown away and fell to the ground.

"I punched something stupid." (Yuna)

I said, looking at my the bear puppet.

"Hey, what are you doing?!" (Receptionist)

The receptionist from before came out, raising her voice.

"When Lydia-san and Zect-san left the guild, you three immediately followed, so I come and see what's going on. I'll be revoking your guild cards." (Receptionist)

The receptionist spoke to the three fallen adventurers.

"We got beaten up."

"That's right. I was just hoping they'd treat me a little."

"I've heard you. You are the ones at fault." (Receptionist)

The receptionist pointed at the men. What a cool receptionist.

"And if you do anything to her, the Adventurer's Guild will never forgive you." (Receptionist)

The men who were told by the receptionist rushed off.

"We apologize." (Receptionist)

"Thank you for your help. But I thought the Adventurer's Guild wouldn't intervene in disputes between adventurers." (Yuna)

"That depends on the situation. If there's a problem, we'll say something." (Receptionist)

I see.

"Also, actually, I had heard something about Yuna-san." (Receptionist)

"Do you know me?" (Yuna)

"A friend of mine works at the Adventurer's Guild in the royal capital. When we met a while ago, I was told about a strong female adventurer who dressed as a bear." (Receptionist)

The adventurer dressed as a bear was me.

"I was told that the bear girl had earned the trust of the guild master of the royal capital, had connections with the nobility, was stronger than any adventurer, and was a cute girl dressed as a bear." (Receptionist)

I felt embarrassed when people called me cute. It's not that I was cute, it's the bear that's cute. It was not a mistake.

"He said that in the royal capital's Adventurer's Guild, they received instructions from the GM, to deal with any other adventurers, if they get involved with an adventurer dressed as a bear." (Receptionist)

The receptionist said with a smile.

"I had forgotten about the conversation with my friend, but when I saw Yuna-san's guild card, I remembered that she's the adventurer dressed as a bear that my friend had mentioned." (Receptionist)

Ah, so that's why when she saw the guild card she muttered, "That rumors?"

"If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know." (Receptionist)

"Well then, even if I return to the royal capital, if Lydia-san's group get involved, please protect them like you did this time." (Yuna)

"As long as it's within my reach." (Receptionist)

"That's fine." (Yuna)

It's impossible for anyone to not know what's going to happen.

"Well then, if you need anything, please let me know." (Receptionist)

The receptionist bowed her head and entered the Adventurer's Guild.

"Yuna-chan is a celebrity, isn't she." (Lydia)

"I just caused a little rampage at the Royal Capital's Adventurer's Guild." (Yuna)

"Rampage..."

Lydia-san and Zect-san narrowed their eyes at me. There's nothing I can do about it since it was the other person who initiated it. It's not my fault.
