Chapter 730

The Bear Goes to Mileela with Noa and Friends (Part 2)

Published: 10 February 2024

After getting off the ship, we wandered around the town of Mileela and met an exhibitionist.

"Yuna!" (Atla)

She's not an exhibitionist, but Atla-san, the guild master of the Adventurer's Guild.

I wondered if she's not cold.

"Yuna, it's been a while. What happened today?" (Atla)

"I brought these kids and came to play." (Yuna)

Atla-san looked where I turned.

"Fina-chan and Shuri-chan were the kids who came to the beach to play before." (Atla)

Apparently, she also remembered Noa and Misa.

Noa and Misa each said hello.

"Why is Atlas-san here?" (Yuna)

"I'm taking a break. I'm thinking of having lunch somewhere." (Atla)

Is that why Atla-san was wandering around like us?

"Now that I think about it, I'm hungry."

"Yeah, I'm free."

Noa and Shuri rubbed their stomachs.

"Hehe, then why don't you join us? We'll have a feast." (Atla)

"Is it okay?" (Yuna)

"That's good enough." (Atla)

We accepted Atla-san's words and decided to enjoy the feast.

And then we arrived at the inn of Deiga-san, Anzu's father.

It's an inn, but it's also a restaurant.

"Why are there girls here?" (Deiga)

Deiga-san said that as soon as he saw me.

"I just came to eat lunch." (Yuna)

"I invited them." (Atla)

"No, I didn't hear anything like that... Well, you took care of me at Crimonia, and today is my treat. Please order as much as you like." (Deiga)

"Hey, that's no good. I'm supposed to treat them to something." (Atla)

"I see. In that case, I'll buy something for you too, so that's fine." (Yuna)

"It's my gratitude to Yuna." (Atla)

"I'm the same way. I was taken care of when I went to Crimonia a while ago." (Deiga)

"No, it's no good. As a town and as an adventurer's guild, I'm the one who will treat her." (Atla)

I didn't really understand, but Deiga-san and Atla-san started arguing over who should buy something.

"Yuna-san..." (Noa)

"Yuna-onee-sama..." (Misa)

"Yuna-neechan..." (Shuri)

Fina was also looking at me.

Wait, do I have to deal with it?

"If it's money, I'll pay for it. Isn't that fine?" (Yuna)

"No!"

"No!"

I couldn't stop them.

It was more troublesome to stop a well-intentioned pushy sale.

I told Fina and the others to give up, left Deiga-san and Atla-san alone and went see Anzu's mother.

"Auntie, this. It's a souvenir from Anzu." (Yuna)

I handed over the paper bag.

Anzu asked me to give it to her mother the next time I went to Mileela.

"Oh, thank you."

Anzu's mother accepts a souvenir from Anzu.

I hadn't heard what's inside, but she bought it at Crimonia, so I didn't think it's unusual.

When I returned to the dining room, I saw Deiga-san with a triumphant look on his face.

"I lost." (Atla)

Atla-san looked frustrated.

I didn't know what the battle was about, but it looked like Deiga-san won.

"Feel free to eat as much as you like." (Deiga)

We were treated to Deiga-san's kindness and were treated to a meal.

It was as delicious as Anzu's cooking.

As expected, he was Anzu's master.

"Do you have free time, Miss?" (Deiga)

I was bad at hearing people.

...I did have some free time though.

"I don't have a job with set hours, so I have a lot of free time, so I can come whenever I want." (Yuna)

Unlike Deiga-san, I was a freelancer.

I work whenever I want and go wherever and whenever I want. Basically, I was not bound by anyone.

Yeah, that's great.

Well, even in my original world, I was a recluse, but basically, I was free.

"So, how long will Yuna and the others stay?" (Atla)

"I'm going to take a look around and then go home." (Yuna)

There were still places to go.

"I see. Actually, I'd like to show you around." (Atla)

"Don't worry about it. Even Atlas-san is busy, right?" (Yuna)

Despite appearances, Atla-san was the guild master of the Adventurer's Guild.

I didn't know how much work she had to do, but I didn't think she's the type of person who forced work on her subordinates. Probably boss Atla-san was also busy with various things.

With our bellies full of Deiga-san's food, we thanked him and left the restaurant.

Atla-san also returned to the Adventurer's Guild.

"She seems to like Yuna-san." (Noa)

"I can see that everyone admires Yuna-onee-sama." (Misa)

"It's not like that. I may have said it before, but I was just trying to help with a bit of a problem." (Yuna)

"Even if it's just a small thing for Yuna-san, it's a big blessing for everyone in town." (Noa)

"I think so, too" (Misa)

Noa and Misa praised me, but I only did what I could.

I couldn't have done that without the bear equipment.

That's why I couldn't take off this bear gear.

We shopped at a souvenir shop.

There were things like bear charms for sale.

From what I knew, I heard that fishermen who went out to sea bought them as talismans for their safety.

So, maybe the only people who bought it were the residents of Mileela.

That's what I thought, but Noa and the others started watching intently.

"The variety is increasing."

"It's true"

Apparently, she bought it the last time she came on a company trip.

Noa and Misa started choosing bear amulets. Shuri joined in, and finally Fina joined in as well.

"Uncle, are those selling?"

"Of course. People who hear the fisherman's story buy it as a charm to help them live safely."

Maybe the people of Crimonia are buying it too?

...I decided to stop thinking about it too deeply.

As we started walking after buying bear amulets, Shuri called out.

"Yuna-neechan. There's a suspicious person over there." (Shuri)

There was a person walking ahead of Shuri, looking around and paying attention to his surroundings.

"Jeremo-san?" (Yuna)

"Wow, you're the bear girl. Please don't startle me." (Jeremo)

When he saw my face, he was surprised and then relieved.

This person was Jeremo. He was the guild master of the Commercial Guild. He was a serious and kind person at heart, but he often skipped work and slipped out of the Commercial Guild.

"Are you slacking off again?" (Yuna)

"No, I have a lot of work to do, so I'm taking a voluntary break." (Jeremo)

That's called slacking off. I was also someone who didn't want to work, so I couldn't blame Jeremo-san.

"Are you really that busy?" (Yuna)

"Ever since that tunnel opened, I haven't had time to rest. How many times have I thought about destroying that tunnel?" (Jeremo)

He said while making a fist.

It sounded like he was being serious.

"If you do that, everyone will be in trouble." (Yuna)

"I know. I was just trying to say it. Everyone is living a happier life than before. I can hear laughter everywhere. I'm glad to think that those smiles are helping in some small way." (Jeremo)

"Jeremo-san…"

"But, I have a lot of work to do. Recently, business with the city of Sheelin has started, so the amount of work is only increasing. No matter what I do, it doesn't decrease." (Jeremo)

Came to think of it, didn't they say a while ago that they were going to do business with the city of Sheelin?

"Isn’t the number of guild employees increasing?" (Yuna)

"Miss, don’t you know that when the number of employees increases, my work increases?" (Jeremo)

"Huh? If the number of employees increases, won't Jeremo-san's work decrease?" (Yuna)

In response to my question, it was Noa, not Jeremo-san, who spoke.

"Yuna-san. When the number of subordinates increases, it is the job of the superiors to check it. Up until now, reports were submitted from 10 people, but if the number increases to 20, the number of reports will double." (Noa)

"That's right. More people means more work. Miss, you're so smart." (Jeremo)

Jeremo-san praised Noa.

"After all, she is the lord’s daughter." (Yuna)

"Lord...?" (Jeremo)

"This child is the daughter of the lord of Crimonia." (Yuna)

"...Ah, that's right. She was the girl who was there when I went to greet the lord of Crimonia." (Jeremo)

"It's been a while, Jeremo-san." (Noa)

When Noa confirmed that Jeremo-san had remembered, she introduced herself again.

Apparently, Jeremo-san had been to Crimonia before. Well, Cliff couldn't easily come to Mileela, so if he had to meet him, I guessed Jeremo-san would have to go.

"By the way, this child is the daughter of the lord of Sheelin." (Yuna)

"I am indebted to your father and grandfather in Sheelin." (Jeremo)

Jeremo-san bowed his head deeply.

"Still, there are a lot of people."

I looked around.

The desolated landscape when I first came to Mileela was nowhere to be found.

Last time I went on a company trip, it was lively, and the number of people was increasing, and that hadn't changed.

"Ah, this is also thanks to Miss. Everyone is grateful that the seafood is selling well." (Jeremo)

Then, while we were talking, a Commercial Guild employee took away Jeremo-san, who had been slacking off.

After that, we enjoyed the town of Mileela and returned to the bear house in Mileela.

Today we decided to stay in the town of Mileela.

"The room and bathroom were clean."

I took a bath and relaxed in my room.

"The other day, when I decided to bring Noa and Misa, I came to clean with Fina." (Yuna)

That was tough.

"Is that so?" (Noa)

"We apologize for the inconvenience" (Misa)

"Ugh, I want to help too." (Shuri)

"Next time, I'll ask Shuri to help me as well." (Yuna)

I'd appreciate it if you could help me with something as troublesome as cleaning.

What's more, it was great that they were willing to help with the cleaning.

I guessed this was also thanks to Tilmina-san's education.

Then, we fell asleep while looking out at the night sea.
