Riyan's perspective
I could feel Rhone's feelings.
Rhone was always crying.
Because I brought Rhone here, made Rhone suffer.
I had never expected Beilung's obsession with fairies to go this far.
However, I was hoping that Beilung would be happy. However, Beilung was jealous of the fact that I could see fairies, and he was trying to make Rhone his own. So, I tried to let Rhone went home, but Beilung refused.
He got angry and said he wouldn't let that happen.
And I was drugged and laid here for a long time. I was unable to open my eyes or speak, but occasionally I regained consciousness. That happened when Rhone was nearby or when Rhone's emotions changed greatly.
But that time was always when Rhone was crying.
I couldn't reach out to her, I couldn't speak to her, and I couldn't comfort her.
I wanted to see Rhone's face.
"Ryan" (Rhone)
She was crying again today.
"My sister came looking for me. She asked me to go home with her. But I said some horrible things and drove her away."
"Because we can't go home together."
"If we go back, Prim will be in danger too."
"I think Beilung will come after me."
"Yeah, listen. She's Prim's partner, but she's dressed as a bear. But she was a cute girl."
Rhone told me about what happened today. Sometimes she looked happy, sometimes she looked sad.
"But I was happy to finally meet Prim."
It's not the last time. I wanted to say that she would see her again.
But I couldn't even say those words.
Rhone looked sad, but there was nothing I could do to help her.
As I did so, I gradually fell into sleep, as if sinking deeper into the darkness, and my consciousness began to sink.
Rone... I'm sorry.
A shock ran through my body.
I woke up.
I heard Rhone's voice
Apparently, Rhone's sister brought someone to pick her up.
It might be her sister Prim and the girl I heard about the other day dressed as a bear.
Then, she tried to take me out with them, but it seemed like I started to suffer and then they gave up.
This room was created so that the mana of the residents would be directed to me, Rhone, and Beilung.
The effective range was within this mansion. If I left further than that, I wouldn't be able to receive any mana, and Beilung would unilaterally take away my mana. Therefore, I couldn't leave this mansion without Beilung's permission.
By giving up carrying me, the pain eased.
Rhone, you can abandon me and run far away with your sister.
I wanted to convey that one word, but I couldn't.
Then, a knight from the mansion appeared and a girl named Yuna, who came to help Rhone, was heard saying they were going to fight.
A girl was fighting a knight to take me and Rhone out.
If a girl were to die, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself.
I beg of you, you can abandon me and run away with Rhone.
Such wishes were in vain, and all that could be heard was the sound of the knight and the girl fighting.
Then, while the knight and the girl were having a conversation, Beilung appeared and it was revealed that he had killed the knight.
Beilung, right now I have nothing but hatred.
I couldn't forgive Beilung for tormenting Rhone.
He trampled on me and Rhone's kindness.
Beilung also noticed a girl named Yuna who seemed to be Rhone's younger sister Prim's partner.
And then he tried to make that girl his own.
I didn't want that girl to be like me.
I want you to run away.
However, the girl also agreed to fight.
He then said that he would be in trouble if this room were to be destroyed, so he would move the fighting location.
It was okay for me now. To destroy this room, kill me, and run away with Rhone.
...Please.
...Please kill me.
That wish would not reach anyone.
No one remained in the room, and it became quiet.
How much time has passed since then?
No one was coming back.
At such times, a large amount of mana flowed into my body.
I experienced it once in the past.
That was when Beilung did it to gain mana.
Mana entered my body and exited at the same time.
It was hurt, painful. I could also feel Rhone's pain.
I wanted to rush right away, but my body wouldn't move.
What's going on?
When the flow of mana subsides, I noticed a strange sensation.
I opened my eyes that I couldn't open before.
I was inside the room. Am I able to wake up because a huge amount of mana flowed all at once?
But when I tried to get up, my body wouldn't move.
I wondered how long I slept.
I didn't know because I had no sense of time.
I could only feel Rhone's anxiety.
Please, move.
I put some force into it, but only moved a little.
I couldn't stand up, let alone walk.
I wanted to go to Rhone.
Just then, I heard the sound of someone coming down the stairs.
"What? What is this room?"
"Hey, what kind of cloth is this?"
"Wow!?"
"It's probably a lie."
"Captain...he's dead."
"Why are you dead in a place like this?"
"I don't know. This place is off-limits and the door is always locked. You know that too."
"That's right, but"
"That's why I came to check because the lock was broken and the door was open."
"Let's get out now."
Wait, don't go.
I moved my body.
"Hey, there's someone over there..."
They noticed me.
"Is he dead?"
"I don't know."
A man and a woman approached.
"This person is……"
"He's Riyan-san."
I recognized it too. They were the knights and female servants who served this mansion.
"Why are you in this place, looking like this?"
I tried to open my mouth, but no sound came out.
"Riyan-san, are you okay?"
"First, water!"
"Hey, Riyan-san, please wait a moment."
The knight used magic to create water and poured it into my mouth.
Water passed down my throat.
"Ah, yes, but..."
My voice was hoarse, but it came out.
"Are you okay?"
"Why are you here?"
The room shook.
"Let's talk about it later and get out of here for now."
"That's right. Riyan-san, I'll carry it on your back."
The man lifted me up, with woman's help, and put me on his back.
"Thank you."
"For now, we're going to leave the room, so please hold on tight."
I grabbed my wrist with my weak hand to keep it from falling.
That was the best I could do.
The man took one look at the man on the floor, then went up the stairs.
"What on earth is going on?"
No one had that answer.
However, Rhone only conveyed a sense of unease.
Yuna's Perspective
Beilung's power grew stronger and stronger.
He moved at a speed that was hard to believe that he was human. If I got far away, he would release powerful magic, and if I closed the distance, he would attack me with a mithril sword.
Beilung had gathered the mana of the city's residents and was further strengthened by the power of Rhone.
I was strengthened by bears.
Will the residents' mana run out first, or will mine run out first?
A mithril sword crossed.
I dodged it and kicked it away. Beilung rolled, but he got back up quickly.
You might believe me even if I said that he had given up on being human.
"Yuna!" (Prim)
Prim was looking at me worriedly.
"It's my fault. Don't fight anymore." (Rhone)
"Rhone..." (Prim)
"I don't think Beilung will get any stronger if I die. Yuna, thank you for fighting for me. Thank you for letting me meet Prim." (Rhone)
She looked like she had realized something, and she had made up her mind about something.
"What's on your mind?" (Yuna)
I got worried and asked.
"I didn't have the courage to die." ()
Rhone took out something small.
A knife!?
"I should have done it this way from the beginning." (Rhone)
The moment I thought that, Rhone grabbed something like a knife with both hands and swung it towards her throat.
I couldn't move at the moment. But Prim, who was nearby, moved.
"Sister!" (Prim)
Something like blood was flowing from Prim's small hand.
She was holding something like a knife that Rhone had swung down.
"Prim..." (Rhone)
"Sister, stop it. Why does sister have to die for that man? It's not your fault." (Prim)
"No, I helped Beilung with his research." (Rhone)
"I guess it was because of your partner, Riyan." (Prim)
Rhone liked Riyan.
I could feel that just by listening to her talk.
She was helping out Riyan, who she loved.
"Prim is right. Rhone won't die. But I'm not saying Rhone isn't at fault. Even though she was to protect Riyan, she was doing what that man told her." (Yuna)
There was no point in making others unhappy in order to protect your loved ones.
But sometimes that was the only way to go.
There were people who had no choice but to take a path, even if they didn't want to.
Sometimes in this world you didn't have a choice.
"Yuna..." (Rhone)
"I guess it’s okay for me to defeat the current Beilung." (Yuna)
"I can't win. Even if I win, the people in town are causing trouble because of me. Please. Let me die..." (Rhone)
"Sister……" (Prim)
This was also because I said that I didn't want to kill people.
Even now, I was confused about killing people.
A person who had lived a normal life would not have the sense to kill someone. Just because I came to another world, it was not easy to kill people.
That kind of thing only happened in comics and novels.
But here, if I didn't kill Beilung, no one would be saved.
When my heart was in turmoil, a voice raised.
"What kind of situation is this?"
A man and a woman come out from the mansion.
The costumes were a knight and a maid. Then, someone was carried on his back.
