Prim's Sister Perspective
I never thought Prim would come to town looking for me.
I was happy when I found out that she was coming to town, but I couldn't go home.
I looked at the man sleeping on the bed.
The first person who saw me.
When I was flying a little far from the fairy forest, I saw a human. I thought he couldn't see me anyway, and when I flew right in front of him, that human was following me with his eyes.
When I moved left and right, the human's eyes also moved left and right.
"Maybe you can see it?" (Rhone)
"Yes, I can see you. Are you a fairy?" (Riyan)
When I talked to him, the human's eyes lighted up and he asked questions back to me.
My voice was heard too.
The human's name was Riyan (リヤン).
Apparently, he came here after hearing rumors about fairies.
"Is there a place where fairies live nearby?" (Riyan)
He asked with shining eyes.
But I couldn't say that.
Even though there was a forest of lost places, if people found out where we fairies lived, we would be in trouble.
I knew that there were good people and there were also bad people.
Some fairies became happy after meeting humans, while others became unhappy.
That was why we didn't tell you where we live.
"No, I'm the only one." (Rhone)
Riyan looked disappointed at my words.
"It's Rhone-san, right? You're alone? If you don't mind, would you like to come with me to the town where I live?" (Human)
"I couldn't go because I have a place to live." (Rhone)
I declined Riyan's offer.
I was interested in cities where people live, but if this person was a bad person, it would be a big problem.
"I see. In that case, will you meet me when I come here again?" (Riyan)
"Well, if you feel like it." (Rhone)
I didn't mind if we just met once in a while.
Because this was the first time I met someone who can see me.
After that, Riyan started coming to see me several times a year.
It seems that Riyan came from faraway places where humans live. It has been a long time coming, he told me, to get to this point.
Riyan said that there were a lot of people where he lived.
I had been to a nearby village, so I asked, "Is that about it?" and he laughed at me.
He told me that there were many more people, and countless people lived together.
I had never seen so many people like that.
Riyan said he went to a school in that city.
He told me that a school was a place where human children study.
"Is Riyan a child?" (Rhone)
"Hmm, I don't know. I'm going to school with my parents' money, so I may still be a child, but I think I'm an adult. I'm graduating soon." (Riyan)
A graduate seemed to refer to someone who had completed their studies.
Then, the next time he came to see me, Riyan told me that he had graduated from the school.
After graduating from the school, Riyan lived in another city and worked for the lord of that city.
Lord?
It seemed that a lord referred to the most powerful person in a group of humans.
Then, once again, I was asked if I could come to the town where Riyan lived.
Because I told him that if I used Riyan's magic power, other people might be able to see me.
I didn't know if it was actually possible because I had never done it. However, it was passed down among the fairies. I had heard that it was actually possible.
"A senior at the school? A friend? Someone who helped me a lot asked to meet you." (Riyan)
"Did he talk about me?" (Rhone)
"Yeah, sorry." (Riyan)
Riyan said apologetically.
By any chance, Riyan's friend was interested in fairies, just like Riyan, and wanted to see them, even if it was just once.
I actually wanted to decline the offer, but I was looking forward to talking to Riyan. Therefore, I couldn't refuse Riyan's request, considering that if I refused, he might not come to see me again.
"Yeah, just for a little bit." (Rhone)
"Really!? Thank you, Rhone. Don't worry, I'll send you back here." (Riyan)
Riyan smiled widely.
I was a little worried about my younger sister Prim, but I decided to go without saying anything, thinking that as long as I came back soon, she would be fine. If I talked to her, she might offer to come along.
After getting ready, I headed to the town where Riyan lived.
We crossed mountains and rivers, and there were monsters along the way.
I didn't know if monsters could see us fairies, but sometimes they attacked us.
That was why we fairies chose not to get close to monsters.
However, Riyan used magic to defeat the attacking monsters.
It was not a big deal, but I couldn't go there alone.
However, Riyan went beyond that path and came to see me many times.
When I thought about it, I felt a little happy.
A few days after leaving the fairy forest, we arrived at the human town where Riyan lived.
There were a lot of people. It was completely different from the nearby village. Everywhere you look, there were people everywhere. Even if I flied, no one would notice me. Riyan was worried that someone would find me, but there was no need to worry.
Riyan was a special person to me.
As I was looking around, he told me that he would give me a tour of the city later and that I should go to my destination first.
I wanted to see the city a little more, but I followed Riyan's words.
We came to a large building away from a crowded place.
It seemed to be the largest building in this city.
Even if humans were big, this building was too big. I wondered if orcs lived there too?
Then, I was introduced to a male human.
The name was Bailung (ベルング).
He was a normal male human.
Is he Riyan's friend? Riyan called him his senior.
It seemed that senior referred to someone older than you at the school.
His friend Bailung said he became a lord a while ago.
Speaking of the lord, he was the one who was said to be the most important person among the group of humans in this city.
According to Riyan, Bailung, like himself, loved fairies and did a lot of research in order to meet fairies, but when his father passed away, Bailung came back to this city from another city.
"Are there really fairies?" (Bailung)
Bailung looked around for me, but he couldn't see me.
I tried to use Riyan's mana. He should now be able to see me.
Bailung's eyes, which were looking around, caught me firmly.
"……fairy" (Bailung)
"I'm Rhone, nice to meet you." (Rhone)
When Riyan's friend Bailung saw me, he was even more impressed than Riyan.
Bailung asked a lot of questions.
Were there no other fairies besides me, and where did they came from?
No matter how much Riyan's friends were, he couldn't talk about his friends. Even if it was Riyan.
So, I said the same thing I said to Riyan.
"I don't know. Fairies act alone." (Rhone)
Bailung was disappointed in the answer.
Furthermore, I was even more disappointed when I learned that he couldn't see me unless I used Riyan's mana.
"Um, was what was written in the book true? Only the chosen ones can see fairies. Does that mean I wasn't chosen?" (Bailung)
Not exactly. Each fairy had a wavelength, and only humans who matched that wavelength could see.
There were many friends in the fairy's forest.
Maybe there were fairies who were on the same wavelength as him, but I couldn't tell him where the fairy's forest was.
We met by chance. Therefore, it was said that he was lucky to meet fairies.
Then, I was asked to stay in town for a little while until Riyan sent me back near the Fairy's Forest.
I was also interested in the human city, and I wanted to spend a little more time with Riyan, so I decided to stay.
At this time, I was still unaware of Bailung's feelings and was excited about coming to a town where there were so many people.
The next day, Riyan showed me around the city.
It was really different from the nearby village where humans live. The number of people and the size of the buildings were all things I had never seen before.
Even though there were so many people, none of them noticed me.
Occasionally, there were people who reacted, but they couldn't see me.
I had heard that if the wavelengths were close to each other, they could see light and even heard voices.
It was said that it was rare for people to be able to see completely, but if there were so many people out there, there might be others besides Riyan who could see.
But Riyan told me to be careful because it might cause a fuss if they noticed me.
I didn't want to make a fuss either, so I had to be careful.
And now Riyan and Bailung were the only two who knew how to use Riyan's magic to make me visible to others.
Then, after a few days of my stay in town, Riyan and Bailung asked me if I could help them with their research.
I knew that Riyan and Bailung were researching fairies. That was why Riyan and I were able to meet.
"What can I help you with?" (Rhone)
"I want you to investigate Rhone's mana." (Bailung)
I was told that he wanted to investigate mysteries that others could not see, such as the wavelength of mana.
I was also curious. Why could only certain people see us?
So, I agreed to it, if only for a little bit.
Originally, if I used Riyan's mana, I would become visible to others.
After doing some research, I found out that if Bailung absorbed Riyan's mana, he would be able to see me.
But it was only for a short time. It wasn't possible for a long time.
"Rhone will soon be out of sight." ()
"Will my mana be converted into Bailung-senpai’s mana?" (Riyan)
"Even if it's the same water, if you mix it, it will become different water." ()
I thought water was water, but apparently it was not.
He explained that there were various types of mana.
Ugh, that's difficult.
I could barely understand what Riyan and Bailung were talking about, but it seemed like Riyan's mana, Bailung's mana, and my mana were basically the same, but the details were different.
I also tried the opposite. I thought that by channeling my mana into Bailung, he might be able to see me, so I tried, but he couldn't see me.
Bailung was disappointed.
Author's Note
Rhone's perspective is planned to be in the first and second parts.
Come to think of it, May 29th marks the 7th anniversary of the first volume of Kuma's book being released.
At that time, I didn't think it would last this long.
This is also thanks to everyone reading this.
Thank you for your continued support of Kuma.

Update History
3 Jan 2024: write name ベルング as "Bailung" I think it's the most makes sense.
