"Anyway, she felt like a queen." (Yuna)
"Yes. She was a dignified and kind. She was strict, but she was worried about Prim-san, and she was also concerned about his sister." (Noa)
Normally, the fairy's forest was an area where humans should not be allowed to enter. Even though it was just one person, she had given permission. This time there were only two of us.
"Perhaps Prim brought us here to check on us. Are we the right person to let Prim go with us?" (Yuna)
"Then, does that mean we have been recognized?" (Noa)
"That's not going to happen." (Prim)
She said she could read emotions. Maybe that was how they checked what's good and what's bad.
"I'm sorry. I think she's probably worried about me because my sister is no longer with a human." (Prim)
"It's not about apologizing. Anyone would be worried if a relative suddenly disappeared." (Yuna)
"Yes. That's right. I don't mind either. On the contrary, I'm glad that you seem to trust me." (Noa)
"Yuna, Noa, thank you." (Prim)
Prim smiled happily.
"The most amazing thing was that she didn't even notice my appearance." (Yuna)
There was no reaction when they saw my bear costume, and no one pointed it out to me. She was talking calmly.
"That's right." (Noa)
"Yuna's appearance? Is something wrong?" (Prim)
Prim, who was sitting on my shoulder, flew in front of me and looked at my appearance.
"My costume is probably a bear. People who see me for the first time often look at me strangely." (Yuna)
"Is that so?" (Prim)
Prim didn't seem to understand and tilted her head.
"I don't think Yuna's style is strange at all. It suits her." (Prim)
I wondered what it was. Maybe I would be annoyed if someone told me it didn't suit me. I had mixed feelings when I was told that it was not weird and that I looked good on it.
Came to think of it, Prim didn't have a big reaction when she saw my appearance.
Maybe we and fairies had different sensibilities.
"I think it suits you too." (Prim)
"Thank you. Just to confirm, do you know what country this is?" (Yuna)
First, I checked the location. It was possible that it was near Crimonia, or even the royal capital.
"There's no way I know the name of the human country. Yuna probably doesn't even know the name of the fairy's forest where we live." (Prim)
"...I don't know." (Yuna)
"Does the fairy's forest have a name?" (Noa)
"Fairy's Forest, Rhetesia (レーテシア)." (Prim)
"It is a nice name" (Noa)
"Hehe, I guess so." (Prim)
Prim looked happy to be praised.
"I guess it can’t be helped because the existence of fairies itself is not well known." (Yuna)
"That may be true, but I don't have any human acquaintances either, so I guess it's the same thing." (Prim)
I understood Prim's point.
If you asked me if I knew the names of all the places on earth, I didn't. I didn't feel confident even if I was asked to give the exact location and name of each prefecture in Japan.
Maybe I would know if I had friends or acquaintances living there, but unfortunately, such a person did not exist for me.
"Then you said you've been to a nearby village. Is it close?" (Yuna)
"It means the nearest village after leaving the fairy forest, but I don't know if it's close or not." (Prim)
"You don't know. Have you ever been there?" (Yuna)
"Humans tend to think about themselves. Ask a bird flying the same distance at great speed and an ant on the ground the same question. Do you expect to get the same answer? " (Prim)
I understood what Prim wanted to say.
If their body sizes and moving speeds were different, it could be said to be near or far away.
If I rode Kumayuru and Kumakyu, it would feel closer. As I walked, it felt far away.
It was close if you take the train, but far if you walked.
If you flew there, it might take a day, but if you walked there, you didn't know how long it would take.
"But why do you ask that?" (Prim)
"I just thought it would be better to gather information in the village." (Yuna)
"Why don't you just go straight to your sister?" (Noa)
"I'm going in the direction Noa feels, but I don't know the distance first. And I don't know where we are. That's why I want to ask if there are any places where there are many monsters or places I shouldn't approach. Of course, I don't know the distance. You might also be able to hear it." (Prim)
If this was a strange country, far from Crimonia or the royal capital, the information was important.
Country name, nearby city name. What kind of country was it? What kind of city was it? It would be dangerous if the country was at war with another country.
This time Noa was also there, so it was not just me. If there was a way to avoid danger, it was better to do so. That was why information was important.
"So, what about the direction?" (Yuna)
"I think that's the direction she's heading. I flew in this direction before too." (Prim)
"Then, for now, we'll go in the direction Noa feels and stop by the village if it's nearby." (Prim)
"Yes. I don't mind that." (Noa)
"I'm fine with that too." (Yuna)
Kumayaru and Kumakyu carrying us continued to run leisurely.
"I don't mind if it's easy. When I flew away, I was tired and took many breaks. I keep passing by familiar places." (Prim)
Prim said as she climbed on top of Kumayuru's head.
Then, we took a break as we continue, and the sun was set, so we would stop there for today's trip.
I could say I rode at a leisurely pace, and I thought I made quite a bit of progress, but I didn't meet anyone.
I told them where we would be staying tonight: Bear House.
"What is this?" (Prim)
Prim asked while looking at the bear house.
"It's a house for going out. It would be troublesome to camp out in the field, and it would be a problem if Noa caught a cold." (Yuna)
"Yuna-san, I'm not that weak." (Noa)
"The strength of a cold doesn't matter. You feel the worst when you're tired, and you can catch a cold. Even though I was traveling today on the Kumayuru and Kumakyu, I was tired. Besides, you might be mentally tired from being in a strange place. Even if you think you're okay, you need to rest when you can." (Yuna)
She might be excited and energetic right now, but she might be feeling tired from being away from home, meeting fairies, and traveling to unfamiliar places.
"Well, once upon a time, several of the other maids who worked in the house took time off at the same time, so Lala took over their duties. She seemed busy. She was doing my job well. But then she suddenly collapsed, and the doctor said it was due to fatigue. She also had a fever, and I was very worried." (Noa)
"It's dangerous physically, but it's also dangerous when you're mentally tired. When you're camping out in the field, you get nervous and tired." (Yuna)
Well, if I had a Kumayuru bed and a Kumakyu bed, I wouldn't feel that way and I would be able to sleep soundly.
We went inside the bear house.
"Then I'll prepare the meal." (Yuna)
"Then I'll go get ready for the bath." (Noa)
"Do you know how?" (Yuna)
"It's okay. I learned it from Fina in Town of Mileela." (Noa)
When they went to the beach, Noa and Fina were cleaning the bathroom at the bear house in Town of Mileela.
"Then please." (Yuna)
"Let me take care of that" (Noa)
Noa headed for the bath.
"What about me?" (Prim)
Prim asked.
I looked at Prim.
...She's small.
"You can rest with Kumayuru and Kumakyu." (Yuna)
"I said I'd help you." (Prim)
Puffing out her cheeks, she flied towards Kumakyu.
Because she was small and there was nothing I could ask for, so there was no other way.
I prepared the meal, and the table was lined with bread, meat, vegetables, and more. This was what Noa and I would eat. Before Prim there was a small amount of honey was placed on a small plate which I had bought for Kumakyu and Kumakyu. Then there was also a small piece of bread.
It seemed that fairies mainly eat what was found in the fairy's forest, but they did not eat meat.
Among the things I had, honey and bread seemed to be edible.
"It's not as good as the honey we get from our forests, but it's delicious." (Prim)
""Kuu~n"" (Kuma-Kuma)
Kumayuru and Kumakyu cried.
"What, do you guys want to eat honey from our forest too?" (Prim)
""Kuu~n"" (Kuma-Kuma)
Kumayuru and Kumakyu nodded.
"Then, if we can find your sister safely, I'll give you some food as a thank you." (Prim)
""Kuu~n!"" (Kuma-Kuma)
Kumayuru and Kumakyu cried happily.
"Um, is that okay? I don't think a small amount is enough." (Yuna)
At my words, Prim looked at Kumayuru and Kumakyu, who had turned into cubs.
"...Can't you become a little smaller?" (Prim)
Although it was a bear cub, it was much bigger than Prim.
"They can't." (Yuna)
"Well, if it's just a spoonful." (Prim)
""Kuu~n"" (Kuma-Kuma)
"It’s not much." (Yuna)
"No, I can’t, I’m sorry." (Prim)
""Kuu~n""
Kumayuru and Kumakyu cried sadly.
Well, there's nothing I could do about it.
No matter how much they had turned into a bear cub, they were still big from the fairy's point of view.
After we finished eating and cleaned up the dishes, we took a short break.
Noa was holding Kumakyu, and Prim was lying comfortably on top of Kumakyu. I was thinking about the future.
After all, it was better to let her know.
"Yuna-san, would you like to take a bath soon?" (Noa)
"That's right. But wait a minute, before that, there's something I want to tell Noa." (Yuna)
I decided to tell Noa about the bear transfer gate.
"But I don't want you to tell anyone. Not even Cliff or Ellelaura-san." (Yuna)
My anxiety about teaching Noa was that what Cliff and Ellelaura-san would hear.
"To my father and mother... It's not a bad thing, is it?" (Noa)
"It's not a bad thing. There's no harm in telling them. But it'll be troublesome, so I'd like you not to tell them." (Yuna)
"I understand. If Yuna-san wants me to shut up, then I won't tell anyone." (Noa)
"Thank you. Come to my room then." (Yuna)
I moved to the room with the bear's transfer gate.
Author's Note
Next time, we will finally talk to Noa about the bear transfer gate.
