"Hey, where's my sister’s handkerchief!?" (Prim)
Prim climbed onto Noa's hand and tried to find the handkerchief.
"When I tried to catch it, it disappeared." (Noa)
To me, Prim's handkerchief seemed to disappear into Noa's palm.
"You're probably lying. It might have fallen on the floor." (Prim)
Prim didn't seem to want to believe Noa's words and began to look for Noa's feet. Noa and I squatted down to look for it, but we couldn't find the small handkerchief.
"No. I finally found someone who can see me and talk to me. I thought I could go find my sister..." (Prim)
"What else does your sister have?" (Yuna)
"There isn't. That's all." (Prim)
Until recently, Prim was smiling when she met me and agreed to let me go to the fairy forest. She looked like she's about to cry now.
"Hey, did it really come inside your body?" (Prim)
Prim asked while touching Noa's hand as if to confirm.
"When I tried to catch it with my hand, it disappeared." (Noa)
"Noa, is there something wrong with your body?" (Prim)
Noa touched her body, opening and closing her hands.
"No, nothing. But I feel something." (Noa)
Noa said this as she put his hand on his chest.
"Hey, what does it feel like?" (Prim)
"I don't know how to explain it. However, I feel a different, small flow of mana inside me. It's similar to the feeling I had when Yuna-san taught me how to use magic and when she let the mana flow through my body." (Noa)
When I was teaching Noa and Fina how to use magic, I once let magic flow through her body.
"But it feels small. However, when Yuna-san's mana disappeared, it feels like it remains now." (Noa)
"Maybe I absorbed you sister's mana." (Noa)
"Isn't that dangerous? Won't something strange happen to Noa?" (Yuna)
"I don't think it will cause any negative effects, so I think it's okay. It's like I received your mana." (Noa)
It was like I poured mana into Noa and Fina in order to teach them magic. If we thought about it that way, maybe there was no danger.
"But since it was made as a handkerchief, the mana may remain in the child's body. Hey, do you know where your sister is? Doesn't it seem like she's somewhere far away?" (Prim)
Prim asked with a little hope.
Noa closed her eyes and placed her hands on her chest.
"I'm sorry. I don't understand. However, I can feel something. Maybe it's because it's far away, like Prim-san said." (Noa)
"Then, let's go to the fairy forest..." (Prim)
"Are you going to take me to the fairy forest too!?" (Noa)
Noa asked happily, thinking that she too could go to the fairy forest.
"No, that's not good." (Yuna)
"Why is that!?" (Noa)
"Looking for people, or even fairies, will take time. I don't think we'll be able to find them in a few hours. If that happens, we'll have to stay overnight. And there's no way Cliff will allow us to go to an unknown land." (Yuna)
"Uh, that's true though." (Noa)
"Prim. I'm sorry, but because of that, I can't take Noa with me." (Yuna)
Noa was not an easy child to take away. If it was Fina, not a big deal. Maybe if I told Tirumina-san, she would give permission.
But this time I needed Cliff's permission. Besides, Noa was the daughter of a noble family. She was not in a position to travel far away easily.
"I'm sorry about that. It's my fault." (Noa)
Noa probably understood this too, so she apologized without forcing herself.
"It's not your fault. It's my fault that I made too much noise and dropped my sister's handkerchief. You just tried to catch it so it didn't fall on the floor." (Prim)
"But..." (Noa)
"Yuna, I'm sorry. You said you would help me." (Prim)
Prim apologized.
But my feelings hadn't changed.
"Let's go." (Yuna)
"Eh, but what's the clue?" (Prim)
"You can just go to a nearby village or town and listen to fairy's story. Maybe your sister probably just left the fairy forest." (Yuna)
"Yeah" (Prim)
"In that case, for now, you should just look for a nearby area where there are people. There may be information about people who have seen fairies there. But if you don't have any information and can't find it, you'll have no choice but to give up." (Yuna)
Even I couldn't promise that I could find it.
It was possible that people who had seen fairies might tell others that they could see fairies.
On the other hand, if you kept quiet and didn't tell anyone, there would be no information and it would be impossible to find out.
Without checking, there was no way of knowing at this point.
"Thank you, Yuna." (Prim)
It was true that I wanted to find Prim's sister, but I also wanted to go to the fairy's forest.
It was give and take.
"...I'm going too." (Noa)
Noa said something with a determined look on her face.
"I'll ask my father. If he gives me permission, I can go with him." (Noa)
"Noa..." ()
"However, if I go with you but I am useless, I may cause Yuna-san some trouble. I will do my best to avoid causing you any trouble. If I can help the fairy, I would like to help you. I would like to. If Father gives permission, may I go with you?" (Noa)
Noa had a serious expression. It was not like she wanted to go to the fairy's forest like I did, or for any ulterior motive. Because of Prim, she seemed to regret what she had done. Noa wasn't that bad though.
"Noah, are you sure you want to go? We're going to a place we don't know. It might be dangerous." (Yuna)
"I'm a little scared, but as long as Yuna-san is here, I'll be fine. Besides, I don't want to be the kind of person who waits without doing anything when there's something I can do. But if Yuna-san thinks it's a nuisance..." (Noa)
I looked at Noa's sad face and then looked at Prim.
"Just to confirm, you go through that mirror to the fairy forest, right?" (Yuna)
"Yup" (Prim)
"Can I bring Noa too?" (Yuna)
"The princess says there's only one person allowed, so she'll get angry if she finds out, but I think it'll be fine as long as you leave the fairy forest right away." (Prim)
As a fairy princess, I didn't think she could overlook bringing so many humans into the forest where fairies lived.
If something were to happen, I could move first and use the bear's transfer gate to bring Noa.
At that time, I had to tell Noa about the bear transfer gate.
Besides, if things were to get dangerous, I could use the bear transfer gate to send Noa to a safe place. It might be a good idea to check the timing and teach her about the bear transfer gate.
I was a little worried that she would tell Cliff or Ellelaura-san.
"Okay. Well then, let's go ask Cliff." (Yuna)
"Yuna-san!" (Noa)
Noa's serious expression suddenly changed to one of happiness.
After all, Noa looked better with a smiling face.
"But, promise me. You won't do anything dangerous. You won't go alone. When you leave me, you'll be with either Kumayuru or Kumakyu." (Yuna)
""Kuu~n"" (Kuma-kuma)
Kumayuru and Kumakyu approached Noa.
"Yes. I promise." (Noa)
In case of an emergency, just threw her into the bear transfer gate and protected her.
"Then I'll ask the child's father for permission to go out, so please wait." (Yuna)
"I'll go too. He'll believe me better if I explain." (Prim)
"That's right. I think your father will believe you once he sees Prim-san." (Yuna)
Indeed, it might be easier to persuade Cliff if the fairy was right in front of him.
"If you decide to do that, please take the mirror with you. Actually, I can't leave the mirror very often." (Prim)
According to Prim, if she moved too far away from the mirror, the effect of the fairy water would wear off.
Therefore, it seemed that the ghost disturbances only appeared in the mansion. If she was looking for someone who could see her, it was better to go where there were lot of people.
I picked up the mirror hanging on the wall and held it with both hands.
Don't become a thief.
"Yuna-san, isn’t it heavy?" (Noa)
"It's okay." (Yuna)
It was big, but it was easy with bear equipment.
However, I didn't know if it was okay to put the mirror in the bear box, so I decided to carry it instead of putting it away.
We left the mansion, which was said to be haunted, and headed to Cliff's mansion. Kumayuru and Kumakyu, who had turned into cubs, walked, and Prim hid in Noa's clothes because it would cause a fuss if someone else found her.
Noah asked Prim.
"Prime-san was looking for someone who could see her." (Noa)
"Yeah, at first I tried going to a nearby village. No one could see me or hear my voice, so I thought I'd go look for my sister alone, but it feels far away." (Prim)
"You were scared and couldn’t go alone." (Noa)
"It can't be helped. I've hardly ever left the fairy forest, and I've only been to the village a few times." (Prim)
I didn't think it could be helped with such a small body.
Even if she could fly, it was unlikely that she would be able to fly as fast as birds.
"That's why I was looking for someone who could see me using fairy water. Legend has it that fairy water can guide you. I think that's why I connected with this fairy mirror." (Prim)
"Then, Yuna-san and Prime-san were meant to meet, and so they did." (Noa)
Noa shamelessly said that.
Then, we arrived at Noa's mansion and immediately went to meet Cliff.
Cliff was working, but when he saw the fairy that was with us, he looked surprised and said, "Let's listen to what you have to say."
Author's Note
Next time, we'll ask Cliff for permission.
