Translator's Note
You probably don't need to read this chapter (probably until chapter 562) if you have already read the published English version of light novel volume 17. This translation is just to make a good starting point for people who haven't read the light novel yet and to refresh some memories for those who have read.
According to NovelUpdates, the LN has already surpasses the unofficial translation, which only until chapter 479, so I don't think I have intention to translate chapter 480-546. But if there are requests or demands, I'll probably think about it later.
"...This way!"
"Ah, Reina-san! Mavis-san and Pauline-san too! It's been a while!" (Mile)
This place was in the forest near the capital of the Kingdom of Tils. It was a village of beastmen...
As expected, it would be impossible for them to meet up in the royal capital if their faces were shown all over the continent on such a large screen.
No, if it's just Mile, it could be done with optical camouflage or facial camouflage (face change), but that's impossible for the other three, and the other three wouldn't be able to find the disguised Mile.
So, they decided to meet up in the forest.
Besides, it was more convenient for them to plan their next course of action. The plan was that they only knew about Miles, but...
"I couldn’t write the letter exactly because it was probably censored, but… we all have the same idea, right?" (Reina)
The three of them nodded sheepishly at Reina's sudden topic.
"The life of an aristocrat was boring..." (Mavis)
"My work as messenger is even more boring..." (Mile)
"If you make money by being considered for something that has nothing to do with your ability, it will only make you more frustrated, and it won't be fun at all!" (Pauline)
"Right~!" (All four)
"So, I noticed the code in the letter, and I don't need to ask all of you who jumped rushed on it and escaped..." (Reina)
Then Reina grinned, bared her teeth, and continued speaking.
"Why don’t you leave the territory to the magistrate and continue your life as a hunter for a while?" (Reina)
"Oh!!" (Three of them)
...and the four members of "Crimson Vow" worked together in unison...
"But even if we say we will continue to be hunters, our faces are known all over the continent, right?
Even if we disguise ourselves, if we're a group of four young women, no matter how many times we re-register as a hunter under a false name, we'll be found out right away, right? When all four of us ran away and are missing..." (Pauline)
"Ah. Besides, I feel like they're going to find out when I register as an F-rank hunter and form a party in the first place. The receptionist at the guild isn't an idiot either..." (Mavis)
"That’s the problem, isn’t it? Now, I can’t register as an F rank and collect medicinal herbs. If you register as a skip, you won't be found out in one go..." (Reina)
Pauline, Mavis, and Reina said that and sighed...
"Ah, I didn't find out that I snuck out..." (Mile)
"Eeeeeeeee?" (3 of them)
"I left behind a substitute. A substitute created with magic that looks just like me, 'Mile 001'!" (Mile)
"…………" (3 of them)
They didn't know what that meant, but Reina and the others said, "Well, it's Miles..." and gave up on asking or thinking about it.
Reina and the other three left a letter in which they delegated all management of their territory to their respective magistrates, fathers, and older brothers, and in the event of their death, Pauline's title would be passed to her younger brother, and Mavis' case would be passed to her second older brother. It simply stated that it would be inherited.
Since Reina was lonely for the rest of her life, it was written that her title would be revoked in that case.
"And we don’t have to worry about our face being exposed.
The only place where our faces are seen is on this continent..." (Mile)
"……what?" (Other 3)
"No, that's why our warning broadcasts and live broadcasts of that battle were only broadcast on this continent. If it were on other continents, we would be completely unknown ordinary people, mobs!" (Mile)
"Whaaat!" (Other 3)
"If you think about it, humans used to say things like 'all over the world,' but 'all over this continent' was what Nanos always said. So, when I listened carefully later, I found out that this continent was the only place where that video and audio were broadcast. It is true that no one knows about us, and even if we broadcast that video to other continents that have nothing to do with this case, no one would understand what it was about, and it would be of no use. They won't be able to stand up. ...In other words, on other continents, we are unknown newcomers that no one knows about!" (Mile)
"...Even if you say you're a newcomer, what kind of newcomer are you? There's no hunter guild on a different continent than here, right? In the first place, do you even understand their language?" (Reina)
Reina said that and lunged at her, but Mile lightly brushed it off.
"Tsk tsk tsk! This world used to be a single civilization. However, it fell into disrepair due to the previous invasion from another dimension, and after that, civilization gradually retreated and communication between continents became impossible. Therefore, the language is the same, and it wouldn't be surprising if similar organizations existed on other continents, such as the ones that were created before communication and travel between continents became impossible!" (Mile)
Mile confidently declared this because, of course, she had already confirmed the situation on other continents by asking the nanomachines.
Because the original words were the same, the pronunciation might be slightly different, or the names of the words that were once lost and rediscovered might have changed, but it seemed that this also meant that "compass" became "direction" or "north indicator".
In other words, because people who spoke the same language used names based on similar ideas, there were no major differences despite being isolated for many years, and it was possible to converse with each other as if they were dialects.
It had also been confirmed that there were monsters and hunter guilds on other continents.
This time the monster invasion was only on this continent, but monsters originally existed on other continents as well.
This time, they crushed the dimensional rift in the opening battle, but if they had left it as it was, would a dimensional rift have opened all over the world?
Or did the monsters that spread throughout this continent last time crossed the ocean and spread to other continents?
They got lost in the ships and transport planes that were probably still in operation at that time, or they were transported by that mechanical intelligence in some way...
Anyway, that's why other continents seemed to have similar social forms as here.
"...How are we going to travel? How do we go to such a distant continent that no one has ever been to..." (Reina)
"I'll ask Kragon-san to carry us!" (Mile)
Mile's authority level was raised to 7 due to measures including wartime investiture, and it remained at 7 after the war with post-war approval, so Miles could use nanomachines to send audio and video to distant places.
In other words, Mile had found a way to summon the ancient dragon Kragon.
The method of movement of "Falling horizontally" was so insane that she seemed to have refrained from using it unless she was alone.
"…………" (3 others)
The other continent.
A new world of adventure that had never been seen before.
Everyone felt their bodies and minds tingling.
Mile thought while looking at that situation
Okay, everyone's on board!
Then Reina opened her mouth.
"Now that I think about it, Miles, you have to go to the student guidance room at Ekland Academy, right?" (Reina)
"I wonder who’s going! ...I was granted permission after submitting a written reflection!" (Mile)
Mile suddenly lost her temper.
"…Then, is it safe to assume that we have an agreement?" (Mile)
"Yeah!!" (Other 3)
Then, hearing Mile's words, everyone raised their right arms to the sky and spoke in unison.
"Then I'll call Kragon-san!" (Mile)
"Isn't it too early to deploy? How about the preparation?" (Mavis)
Mavis was a little confused by the sudden development, but...
"All the food and necessary equipment are in my item box, so there's no problem. As for the money, all of my share of the money remains as it is, as well as some of the prey and things I hunted, so as long as I cash it in as soon as I get there, our initial funds will be fine." (Mile)
Reina and the others brought as much gold and orichalcum coins as they could carry, but most of the funds they divided were left at the mansion in their territory.
It was painful to take everything with them, and it was physically impossible to keep everything in the first place. For Reina and the others who didn't have storage magic or item boxes...
"...Sorry, I only brought a portion..."
"Me too……"
"Me too……"
"Well, you can’t use storage magic like me, so it can’t be helped. Moreover, since it cannot be used as currency on other continents, it only has value as gold bullion. I also don't know how much it's worth... So, it's a good idea to keep your money here. It's not like we'll never come back. Besides, wouldn't it be more fun to start from the beginning as a penniless person over there... Ah!" (Mile)
Mile said that it was natural that they had only brought a portion of their assets and she was about to follow up further when she stopped talking.
"...What happened?" (Reina)
Mile answered Reina's question with a slightly unsure look on her face.
"…Um, everyone, before that battle, you made a contract with Nano-chan and leveled up, right? If that's the case, there's a possibility that you can use storage magic now..." (Mile)
"Eeeeeeeh!!" (Other 3)
Yes. That's right.
Previously, when Reina and Pauline tried storage magic taught by Mile, they both ended in failure.
...But what about now that their authority level had become level 2?
At authority level 2, they could not talk directly to nanomachines, and they could not use extradimensional space as an item box like Mile. Unless Mile gave special instructions to the nanomachines like Marcella and her group.
...But if it's normal storage magic...
Gigi.
Gigigigigi….
Reina and Pauline's headed turned towards Mile in a creaking motion.
"M-Miles..." (Reina)
"Mile-chan..." (Pauline)
"I-I'm scared! I'm scared, Reina-san, Pauline-san!!" (Mile)
Mile managed to convince the two of them to leave and decided to take it easy at a later date since she needed to confirm various things about the storage magic, and immediately decided to call Kragon.
The method was simple, she just used the nanomachine network with authority level 7 and sent video and audio to a remote location.
Specifically, all she had to do was form a small screen in front of Kragon's face, project an image, and talked to him.
Well, unlike the time when it was broadcast to the entire continent, this time it was a two-way communication.
...And then, a while after she contacted him, Kragon came.
"THE WORLD’S GUARDIAN, MILES-SAMA! IT'S AN HONOR TO BE INVITED!!" (Kragon)
Kragon was getting lower and lower.
Of course that would be the case.
Anyway, previously, Kragon was only thanking her personally, but now Mile was the angel who saved the world, and for the ancient dragons, it was an order given by the creator. She was a benefactor who helped them fulfill their mission, which was related to the meaning of their existence.
"AH, THIS IS A JEWEL THAT IS PROOF OF BEING AN HONORARY COUNCIL MEMBER OF MY CLAN. FROM NOW ON, YOU CAN CALL YOURSELF HONORARY ANCIENT DRAGON." (Kragon)
Keragon said that and held out some sort of dragon ball.
It's a beautiful one, completely different from the one she received when she carved the claws and horns of the chieftains.
"What is that?!" (All 4)
And then, all of the "Crimson Vow" screamed out.
...It seemed that Mile had finally became an honorary ancient dragon.
Well, maybe it couldn't be helped. Even as an ancient dragon, he could understand that he would want to say that he was on good terms with the angel.
"Then, as I told you, could you transport us to another continent?" (Mile)
"HA! I SPOKE TO ELDERLY PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN TO OTHER CONTINENTS A LONG TIME AGO. I DON'T THINK THERE WILL BE ANY PROBLEMS WITH FLYING... WHICH CONTINENT SHOULD WE VISIT?" (Kragon)
She had already thought about that.
It's cold in the north and hot in the south. If so, where to go...
"West! To the western continent!!" (Mile)
Keragon flew at a higher altitude than when they went to the demon settlement.
That way, they would have less air resistance, so it would be faster, and they would have a better view.
The cold and thin air were covered by Kragon and Mile's double barrier magic, and Mile's warm air magic and air compression magic, so there was no problem.
Reina's fear of heights due to the "Thunderbird Incident" was also overcame the last time she went to the demon settlement. Moreover, there was actually less fear at a much higher altitude than at an intermediate altitude.
Then, all that was left in their field of vision was the empty sea surface, and Mile was thinking about various things to overcome her boredom.
Now that it has become known that the scavengers and golems are on our side, I'm worried that bad people will try to mess with the ruins all over the place. I'm naive and think that they won't be killed even if they sneak in...
They'll try to steal valuable things, rare metals, etc. Even iron, the things made by scavengers are orders of magnitude higher in purity than those made by humans or dwarves, so they are grave robbers targeting ruins and treasures. Hunters will definitely appear...
I wonder if it would be a good idea to start an organization to protect the ruins.
The name of the organization is... "Ascham Foundation"!!
Mile was overjoyed at the idea of this name.
...That's right, she was as happy as ever since he came up with that "Certain magical super flame gun (Reina gun)".
I think the common name for the actual working force is "spray gun"...
We had been flying for quite some time and everyone was completely bored...
"What? Mile, what do you think that is?" (Mavis)
Mavis, who was always the first to discover prey, said this while pointing at the sea surface ahead.
Even though Mile should have better eyesight, for some reason Mavis was able to spot they prey faster than Mile. ...Of course, except when Mile was using search magic...
"...Hmm? Um, that's... Kragon-san, change direction slightly to the left! Full speed while lowering altitude! A ship is being attacked!!" (Mile)
"ROGER THAT!" (Kragon)
"Everyone, prepare for airborne drop!" (Mile)
"Yeah" (Other 3)
As they got closer, they could see the details.
It looked like a small ship of about 20 tons, used for coastal routes.
...No, even if it's a small ship for Mile, it might be a large ship in this world...
What was attacking were several sea serpents.
Sea Serpent was a general term for "Unidentified marine creatures with long, slender, and huge bodies," so it did not refer to a specific monster.
It's attacking the ship.
"Mavis-san, draw your sword! Lena-san, Pauline-san, attack magic, start chanting! As I explained before, with my gravity and wind magic, I have complete control over descent speed. So, jump in without any worries! Coming soon on top! Let's descend... 3, 2, 1, now!" (Mile)
"Yeaaah~!!" (All 4)
The four members of "Crimson Vow" jumped off the back of Kragon, which had lowered his altitude considerably and was about 50 meters from the sea surface, without hesitation.
Of course, the shield that Mile and Kragon had put up had already been lifted.
Even Reina jumped off with an unconcerned face. This was probably because she believed in Miles unconditionally.
...Furthermore, Mile had a track record of supporting her falling body with magic during a fight against Lobreth.
The ship's crew, who were desperately trying to fight the sea serpent, were completely unaware of Kragon which descended silently.
Then, they noticed the four girls were descending with a burst of spirit, looked up at the sky, and froze when they saw the huge body of the ancient dragon reflected in their field of vision.
The sea serpent took advantage of the gap and attacked the crew.
But…….
"Dragon Slayer Sword!"
"Dragon Destroyer Sword!"
"Ice Cutter!"
"Water Cutter!"
What fell from the sky were not kind-hearted pacifist angels...

Translator's Note
I really wanted to read the continuation of this series since long, but it seems no other site translates this series anymore. Now that my Kuma translation has met its author's pace (with 2 weeks delay), I have now more translation slot. I will continue from this chapter, a new journey, the event after the great battle. It is almost like a whole new story.
The original (raw) chapter was posted on 21 December 2021 by the author.
