Translator's Note!
Thank you for waiting. With this, the "gap" is now complete!
Normal novel would have ended at this point, but this one is not. The journey still continues.
"Well then, I hope that good things will come to you all..."
Waaaaaaaaah!!
The silver-haired girl waved to the rising crowd below and stepped further from the balcony of the temporary building.
"Ah, so boring..." (Mile)
[Please be patient, Mile-sama...]
(Nano)
…Yes, it had been six months since then. Mile lived—or rather, she was made to live—in a temporary temple that had been hastily constructed next to the temple that was being built where the three countries—Kingdom of Tils, Kingdom of Brandell, and Albarn Empire—met. It was meant as a temporary residence for Angel-sama until the main temple was completed. All of this was done in order to soothe the spirits of the people who had been torn apart by the war that had caused so many deaths and devastation to the land, and so it was that she was made to perform her duties as Angel-sama every day.
Of course, there was no way that she would be able to manage the Askham territory in Kingdom of Brandell or the newly given Askham County in Kingdom of Tils, and so she left all of that to the governors dispatched by the respective kings. By the way, in Kingdom of Brandell, Mile was called "Marquis Adelle von Askham", and in other countries, she was called "Count Mile von Askham" or "Marquis Mile von Askham". This clearly showed the attitude of Kingdom of Brandell, which insisted that Mile— Adelle were the nobility of the country, and the attitude of other countries which ignored this. And then…….
"It's boring..." (Mile)
This was it. In the first place, it was impossible for Mile to live in the temple. They were given various instructions by "priests", "shrine maidens", and others who had appeared out of nowhere, they were taught etiquette and religious rites, they were made to meet with royalty, great nobles, the Pope, and wealthy merchants, and they were made to listen to boring stories and invitations. There were no fluffy creatures there, and no little girls—There was nothing fluffy there, and no little girl either!!
"It's boring..." (Reina)
Count Reina von Red Lightning had already written a biography, "Crimson Lightning and Me: The Life of Red Reina," which was published by Orphis Publishing with the introduction from Mile—Of course, it was a huge hit. This was only natural, as it was an autobiography written by one of the "Great heroes who saved the world." It had been reprinted again and again. It had sold like hotcakes across the continent, and there wasn't a library that didn't stock it. ...Yes, Reina had already achieved her purpose in life. The "unfulfilled dream" had come to an end...
"I don't know anything about running a territory, so I just leave it all to the people the king sent over... It's boring..." (Reina)
"It's so boring... I, how should I put it, wanted to do something exciting, make people happy, and live a harmonious life with everyone, but I wasn't particularly looking for a busy life managing a territory and doing desk work every day... Plus..." (Mavis)
"Mavis, it's almost time to eat. The members of the Marquis of Carios family are here today, so please be careful not to be rude."
…In case something were to happen to the older brother, the middle brother, who was receiving training as a lord, had been sent over as a coach in managing the territory and interacting with the nobles. And these relationships as nobles were, in fact, a battle to win Mavis's bride.
"Ahhh! Help me, Mile..." (Mavis)
Count Mavis von Myreline. When the new noble family was founded, Mavis who took her friends into her familiy name...
"It's boring..." (Pauline)
Count Pauline von Beckett exclaimed as she sat at her desk in her room at the mansion. She left most of the management of the territory to the magistrate sent by the king, and opened her own shop, "Saint's Shop," in the capital city while studying how to manage the territory. The shop was opened using the operating expenses of the territory and Pauline's own personal assets, so it was jointly funded by the lord and Pauline—Since it's the same person, she could essentially do what she wanted at the store.
Therefore, the profits were split according to the investment ratio, with one going towards the running costs of the domain and the other going to Pauline's personal assets. Pauline was fair and honest in her calculations. No one would meddle or deceive a store run by the lord of the manor, the great hero who saved the world, and one of Angel-sama's companions, so the business continued to make a steady profit——but.
"It's not fun! There's no thrill or fun in this!" (Pauline)
...Yes, as a merchant, it's neither fun nor satisfying at all. And then, she began to feel bored...
"Mile-sama, you have received a letter."
One of the shrine maidens respectfully held a letter on a silver tray and presented it to Mile, who was relaxing in her room—Of course, the sender was someone with a confirmed identity. Letters were pouring in from merchants, nobles, and others hoping to somehow become closer to Mile, but they were all disposed of by the priests before ever reaching Mile. It's possible that letters from friends from school, Hunter acquaintances, friendly townspeople, and even letters from Lenny-chan might have been disposed of without ever being delivered. Although she had instructed them to be delivered properly—These were also some of the reasons why Mile didn't like living here.
But the letter that had just arrived was from a sender who would never be disposed of on the way—The four supreme heroes. Yes, it was a letter from a colleague at Crimson Vow.
"Oh, it's from Reina-san! What the..." (Mile)
Upon receiving the letter from the shrine maiden, Mile opened it with great joy, clutched the letter inside, and jumped into bed. Mile had been feeling a bit down lately, but when she received a letter from her friends in Crimson Vow, it cheered her up, so the shrine maiden who delivered the letter smiled slightly and quietly left the room.
"Well, in the last letter, I'm sure it started with the usual 'How boring!' and ended with the usual 'How boring!'... Well, the letters from Mavis-san and Pauline-san were pretty much the same..." (Mile)
Mile muttered this, even though the letters she sent to everyone were similar. Then, lying in bed, she continued reading the letter...
"Hmmm, I see…… Well, that's true. And then... oh! Aha. Ahahahaha!" (Mile)
(Nano-chan!) (Mile)
[Yes!]
(Nano)
(Is it ready to use "that" right away?) (Mile)
[What do you mean "that"...?]
(Nano)
(Something I had made for me before, used once, and then put away. ...I think it was the bio-robot "Mile001", the one "In the Beginning" made for me in one night! It's time to use it!) (Mile)
[...Ooh! Oooooohhhh!!]
(Nano)
The Nanomachiness rejoiced! At last, "that" made a reappearance. They were given a chance to shine!!
