Chapter 14

Wolf Subjugation

Published: 4 May 2025

What began was a one-sided rampage.

After taking on the reinforced armor, Colène transformed into a giant golem and the wolves were easily defeated. Even if the wolves had banded together, they were no match for her.

The giant arm swing away, blowing several of them away together.

In the first place, the wolves had kept their distance out of fear of the giant (golem) that was on the hill and then they boldly attacked when the golem was absent. So there was no way that the wolves had any chance of winning.

Moreover, the golem the wolves were facing now was not the same as the one before.

The golem's exterior, materialized in the present world by Bond Summon, was as shiny as new and therefore able to fully demonstrate its expected specifications. In contrast, the original golem armor once worn by Colène had been subjected to aging and was now in tatters after carrying out ancient orders for thousands of years.

The difference between the old and the new was clear. In other words, the Colène wearing the new Bond Summon exterior was much faster and stronger than before.

The wolves, who were once afraid to even approach the Old Wreck Golem, couldn't do anything about it.

"Slappy, do a party trick! Crystal ball!" I said to Slappy.

"Squeaeak!" Slappy responded.

By the time I got bored and started playing, they had been completely mowed down, and it was quiet.

"Master, suppression is complete. The enemy has been completely silenced," Colène approached me in her golem form, looking intimidating, so I took a step back. Once again, I thought to myself, "I'm amazed that we were able to face something like this and get through it safely."

"The separate force that responded by attacking from behind has also been crushed, and we have determined that there is no remaining threat in the vicinity," Colène added.

"Yes, thank you for your hard work," I thanked her.

……by the way.

"What's that you got?" I asked.

"They are prisoners, or rather, spoil of war," Colène replied.

The golem’s enormous hand had seized none other than a single wolf. They appeared as enemies this time, but in reality they were not even enemies and were crushed one-sidedly.

Why did you bring that back?

"This is the leader of the wolf pack who first identified himself," Colène explained.

"Ah, it called itself Urshiva or something...?!" (Idhir)

"As proof of our victory in battle, we have considered whether it would be best to execute it with your own hands, Master," said Colène.

"What are you planning on making me do?!" (Idhir)

Are you telling me to kill it?! At that moment, the wolf imprisoned in the golem's hands weakly raised its head.

"Damn it… Kill me…!" (Urshiva)

That was another common occurrence.

"A Proud Wolf will never suffer defeat and live in disgrace! They will die gloriously in battle and leave the pride of a lone wolf to the next generation!" (Urshiva)

The howling wolf was now completely gripped in the golem's hands, and no matter how hard it struggled it was unable to escape. The wolf itself was a monster species that was a size larger than normal, but the golem's enormity was evident once again as it could fit the wolf in its hand.

All around, the other wolves that had been scattered by the golem were growling softly. They too should be in tatters after being mowed down and blown away, but they still didn't run away in fear, perhaps because their leader had been captured.

Do animals have their own sense of camaraderie?

"This is a problem...!!" When you see something like that, it's hard to kill someone even if you want to.

"Colène, I understand what you're trying to say, and since we were the ones who were attacked, it's only natural that we should settle things... but..." I said.

"Is there something bothering you, Master?" asked Colène.

"Once you realize that the other is also a creature with emotions... right?" I replied. I knew it was ego, but those evil goblins from back in the day could be so ruthless.

"I'm impressed by Master's kindness. However, if we release these guys safely, it's highly likely they will come to retaliate. I think it's inevitable that we'll have to take action to put an end to their danger completely." (Colène)

"I guess so...?!" (Idhir)

However, I was unsure of my resolve, and I couldn't stop thinking about a convenient turn of events that would settle things for everyone.

……yeah. That's right.

There was a way to resolve this without shedding any blood.

"Let's make a deal," I said.

"What is it?" Colène responded.

"If we turn these wolves into Bond Summon beasts, we'll be friends and won't have to fight. We won't have to kill each other, and we can ensure our own safety. It's a win-win!" I explained.

"Oh, please wait, Master. You're so casual about giving them the honor of following you, Master...!?" Colène said in panic.

Why are you in such a panic, Ms. Colène?

Meanwhile, the wolf himself (?) is also on the agenda...

"What are you all babbling about?! If you're going to kill me, then kill me quickly! Don't waste your time making pointless chatter with a weakling human!!" said the wolf.

"Hah?" Colène responded to the wolf's remark.

The wolf's careless remark caused the air emanating from Colène to drop below freezing again.

"How dare you speak to Master? Don't you understand that your life or death depends on the mood of the other person?" (Colène)

"I have no desire to live, as I have been prepared for some time now! Why don't you just hurry up and kill me? Don't ignore your enemies and chat with mere humans!" (Urshiva)

"Saying 'mere' is even more rude. Can't you still see who the true owner of this place is?" (Colène)

"Huh? What do you mean?" (Urshiva)

"Just think about it. You all know that I have been protecting this hill for thousands of years, right? What is the reason that this person and I are together in this place that no one has been able to approach during all that time?" (Colène)

"Huh? What?" The wolf had no idea. Its intelligence was thought to be high enough to understand human language, but in the end, its intelligence was that of a dog and was slow to understand things.

"In other words, this is my new Master. It is because he has me under his command that he is enshrined on this hill that no one has been able to approach until now." (Colène)

"Whaaaaat?!" The wolf was surprised. "What?! A human being who looks so weak could rule over a hill with a giant at his side?! That's impossible!? Even though he looks so weak!?"

Don't call me weak again. Ugh, this is such a hassle. Now that they realize I'm Colène's Master and probably respect me a little more, I'll take advantage of that and make them sign the contract!

"'Contract complete'!"

"Rooooooaaaarrrr?!" (Urshiva)

With some strange roar, the contract with the wolf was firmly sealed.

I get a new Bond Summon beast! The structure is steadily getting stronger!

"Hmm, what?" It was good that we were able to successfully sign the contract, but it didn't seem like that's the end of it.

The wolf's body suddenly started glowing, and it slipped out of the golem's hands...

"Something's changing...?" (Idhir)

When the light cleared, what was there was not a wolf, but a beautiful woman with wolf ears and a tail.

She was tall and sturdy, with some resemblance to a wolf, but... She's the wolf after all?!

The wolf turned into a human! And to a beautiful human woman?!

"Why are you metamorphosing into a human form?! A Bond Summoning doesn't have that ability!" (Idhir)

"It is only natural that I should take on the likeness of my master in order to serve him so deeply!" (Urshiva)

I had never heard of that natural thing.

"I, Urshiva, will serve you wholeheartedly on behalf of the Hellwolf. Not just me, but all of the Hellwolves through me will be your hands and feet, taking the role of the dogs and horses." (Urshiva)

"Don't we need a horse? Wouldn't a dog be enough?" (Idhir)

"Who's a dog?! I'm a Proud Wolf!" (Urshiva)

Something unacceptable suddenly happened again.

In the Colène's case, it was still accepted. The body of a female android was placed inside the giant golem's body. Once that was explained, I was somehow able to accept it.

However. I couldn't comprehend the transformation that just happened from the wolf into a beautiful girl. Even the question of "Why did this happen?" remained unclear!

……. Well, I guess I just have to accept it as it is.

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Urshiva," I greeted her.

"It's a bit shallow to call me 'Ms.'! Please call me 'Urshiva'! You're strong enough to defeat the Hill Giant and subjugate it! If I join your side, my clan will be safe!" said Urshiva.

"I didn't defeat it though...!?" I commented on her remark.

Is that why you're so obedient?

And so, before I knew it, we had made new friends.
