"...So, what are we going to do?"
After that, they decided to talk about the details tomorrow and returned to their room. They had to make a decision by night because they had to give their response about the clan the next day.
"...After hearing everyone's opinions..." (Mile)
And then Mile started saying that. If she stated her wishes, people would be less likely to oppose them. This was probably what she was thinking when she said it. And, perhaps thinking that Mile would think so, Reina and the other two silently accepted it.
"First of all, the pros and cons are as Marcella said. For us, the pros are quite large, and the cons aren't something to worry about when we're dealing with the Wonder Trio." (Reina)
The three of them nodded vigorously at Reina's words.
"If I had to say, it would be a hassle that we can’t just move around quietly and on our own; we have to always inform them beforehand when we go on a trip. Well, it's not like you need permission or anything, and if they don't want to come along that's fine, and we can even disband the clan at that point, right? It's not like we're signing a contract that can't be cancelled. What's more, we could even call it a 'trial period'..." (Reina)
It seemed that Reina was quite positive about forming a clan.
"...I also think that's fine. The benefits are great and there are almost no drawbacks... Besides, as Reina says, if it doesn't work out, we can just disband the clan then. There's no reason to oppose it." (Pauline)
"I feel the same way. And Mile is..." (Mavis)
Without even needing to be asked, Mile nodded enthusiastically.
"So that's it then?" (Mile)
"Ohhh!!" (Other 3)
The next morning, the Crimson Vow replied to Marcella and her party that they approved of the clan. After breakfast, the whole day was spent talking about this continent with the smiling Wonder Trio.
"What?! Is the sea a den of monsters?"
"There's an ancient dragon village on this continent too, and you've made some connections there too?"
Marcella and her party were surprised by the explanation from the Crimson Vow.
"What? Kragon-san is providing such a great service to the orphans of the royal capital?" (Mile)
Then, Mile and her group were surprised by the explanation of the Wonder Trio.
"Kragon-san liked kids..." (Mile)
"Maybe it’s just that he finds children, or rather small animals, cute? In the same way that humans find baby birds or newborn kittens… Mile, you're not only respected because you're the Angel-sama, but you're also in that category, aren't you? A pet category, or maybe a pet animal category..." (Mavis)
"……eh?" (Mile)
Mile was shocked.
"No, from what I've said so far it's not about orphans or anything, it's just that children are simply more convenient for removing the trash that gets stuck between the scales... Children have smaller hands so they can reach into tight spaces, and they don't like adults roughly handling the sensitive areas underneath their scales..." (Mavis)
"I see……" (Other 3)
As expected from Mavis, this was an objective analysis.
"Well, I suppose it makes sense, considering they're cute and make you want to protect them..." (Marcella)
"What is thaaaaat!!" (Mile)
Mile barked at Marcella's words. If we added in the time she lived as Adelle before regaining her memories, plus the time she spent as Misato, Adelle, and Mile, her mental age would soon be 33. She'd been alive twice as long as most of the people here. Aside from being "cute," it's also said to "arouse the urge to protect"...
But, fortunately, there was no need to worry about people suspecting that she was actually older than she really is—But it seemed that she herself didn't agree with that...
"Well, that doesn't really matter..." (Marcella)
"It's not like I care!" (Mile)
"About life in the royal capital..." (Marcella)
Marcella ignored Mile's protests and quickly moved on with the conversation. As expected, she seemed to be used to dealing with Mile.
"With seven of us, finding a place to stay would be a pain, is it a party house? Or a clan house? or... I think we should rent a house. We can earn a lot of money thanks to storage magic, and we brought lots of gold coins and materials from our home country, so we can put them in storage. Gold coins are only worth their bullion here, but they still fetch a decent amount of value." (Marcella)
That's certainly true, thought the four members of the Crimson Vow. If there were seven of them, they would have to book two quadruple rooms. There weren't always two rooms available at the inn, so everyone had to gather in one of the rooms to talk. That made it pretty cramped. Also, with seven people, the cost of accommodation and food would be quite high. In that case, wouldn't it be cheaper and more convenient to rent a house?
Plus, at an inn they wouldn't be able to use Mile's specially prepared baths, toilets, fluffy beds, and other things, and they wouldn't be able to eat the food Mile made. That's why—
"Roger!!" (All CV)
"...By the way, can you all cook?" (Mile)
The next day, as the seven of them set out on foot to the royal capital, Mile asked everyone that question. There were seven of them, after all. It's too much of a challenge for Mile to prepare all three meals a day. Of course, she already knew the cooking skills of the Crimson Vow's members without even having to ask.
Mile herself was at the level of a housewife who loves cooking. By using plenty of rare herbs and spices, utilizing magic in the cooking, and utilizing culinary knowledge from Earth, she was able to demonstrate skills on a par with that of the top chefs of this world—That was cheating. It's not like she could peel julienned fruit or had excellent knife skills—Because she had strength, she could cut anything easily, but the cut surface wasn't all that clean.
Pauline was at the level of a wife in an average household. She made reasonably tasty, home-style dishes. If she made them for her boyfriend, he would praise them highly.
If we were to compare Mavis to a Japanese comparison, it would be like a seventh grade girl trying her hand at cooking. It's common sense, very ordinary amateur cooking, and it's edible without any problems, but it's not particularly tasty either.
And Reina. The other person would die with Eternal Force Blizzard—The world would be in turmoil.
