"...So, you're aiming to become a merchant?"
"No, I’m already a merchant. Although I’m a free trader, I’m a member of a proper merchant guild!" (Arly)
"……" (All CV)
They should have refused straight away, but for some reason, Crimson Vow had been listening to even more of the story from the insane "self-proclaimed merchant" girl.
Perhaps they were curious to see something horrifying, or perhaps they were interested in a race that they could not understand, and wanted to learn more about humans...
And then the merchant girl asked this question.
"You guys, you can only deliver three orcs and ogres to the guild per day, right? The guild has imposed a limit for price adjustments for their own convenience..." (Arly)
"Eh? Ah, yes, that's right..."
It's not that they're hiding it or anything, but they didn't go out of their way to tell people about it either, so it's probably not widely known outside of the guild staff.
And as a guild, it would be bad form to impose restrictions on hunters for their own convenience, so it didn't seem like they would go out of their way to publicize it. They'd probably told the staff not to tell anyone.
"How do you know that?!"
So Mile casually admitted it, but Reina heard it and scolded her.
But…….
"You think a merchant would blabber on about an important source of information?"
"Ugh..."
Even though she was just starting out and was unconventional, she still seemed to have a grasp of the important things as a merchant.
Reina, who continued traveling as a peddler with her father and considered herself a proper merchant, couldn't complain.
And…….
"Even though I could make a killing with my extraordinary storage magic, it would be a waste to let it go to waste.
So, if you could directly wholesale a large amount of materials to me, who is completely unrelated to the Hunter Guild and not be bound by their delivery restrictions..."
"I see!" (All CV)
"Hey, hey, hey, hey!" (Everyone)
"Stoooop!" (Everyone)
Crimson Vow elicited cries of approval.
The Hunters present gasped in shock at the outrageous act of loudly talking about something the Guild probably wanted to keep secret.
And then, on top of that, she blurted out things they didn't want to spread, ruining the price adjustments they had worked so hard on, and openly plotting something that would ruin everything within the guild, causing the employees to scream.
"...You guys, come here for a second!" (Guild master)
And before they knew it, the guild master was standing behind them, and all five of them were being handed over to him...
"Don't mess with me, you guys!!" (Guild master)
The guild master was furious.
"No, well, we don’t really… However, this merchant kid approached us with a special request, and I was just asking about the details..." (Mavis)
Mavis said this, desperately trying to explain that it was not their fault, but...
"Shut up! You're talking so loudly! It's embarrassing for the guild to restrict the work of its hunters just for the convenience of the guild! You should be able to figure that out! Use common sense and you'll understand!" (Guild master)
Unfortunately, Crimson Vow was ignorant of such common knowledge.
Besides, it's not something the Hunters would be scolded for by the Guild.
If the guild felt embarrassed, that was probably because the guild was lacking in power, and it was a disgrace to the guild.
So when Pauline pursued the matter...
"I know that! That's why I'm so ashamed and self-loathing that I can't do anything but yell!"
Although the Guild Master said such a thing...
"How embarrassing for an adult to do this..."
"Disgraceful..."
"How dare you vent your frustrations by yelling at innocent girls..."
"Adding to the shame..."
They beat him up, it was a slap in the face.
"I'm sorry, it's because our guild master is an idiot..." (Receptionist)
And of course, Crimson Vow and the merchant girl received an apology from the receptionist who was there to assist the muscle-brained Guild Master.
"...So, really please forgive us?" (Receptionist)
"Eh?"
"Really, please, forgive, us!" (Receptionist)
The receptionist was smiling, but her eyes weren't smiling at all.
"Y-y-ye-yes!!" (All CV)
Reina and her companion answered immediately with distorted faces, but the merchant girl didn't reply.
Well, if she was betting her life as a businessman on this opportunity, she probably wouldn't give up on a profitable business just because the receptionist glared at her and shot her a stare.
…No, even if she wasn’t risking her life, there’s no way a merchant would give up on a profitable business just because of some interference from someone else.
Moreover, the other merchants hadn't thought too deeply about the fact that there was a temporary oversupply of monster materials which quickly returned to normal, and had simply brushed it off as a high-ranking hunter party that had stayed in town for a few days and then left, but she was the only one to discover the truth, and this was the big victory of a lifetime.
There was no way she was going to let it go and gave up so easily.
That's why…….
"Well then, let’s move to another location and discuss business with me, who is not affiliated with the Hunter Guild but is a member of the Commercial Guild…" (Arly)
"Stoooop!" (Receptionist + guild master)
The receptionist and the guild master yelled, veins popping out of their heads.
Seeing this, everyone at Crimson Vow began to think that the receptionist probably couldn't say much about the guild master.
Crimson Vow, realizing that the guild and the girl's positions would remain at a stalemate and talks would not progress if things continued as they were, promised that they would not do anything to cause trouble for the guild, as they fully understood the reasons for the guild's restrictions, and then they took the girl and left the Hunters' Guild...
